Though it is certain that Dasara was not celebrated after the death of Khasa Chamaraja Wodeyar in 1796, there is no record to prove it was in fact celebrated after 1784 itself. James Scurry a British soldier in his memoir The Captivity, Sufferings & Escape records Dasara as he witnessed !

I have visited few times I observed that no body is taking care of Mysore roral family cemetery (due respect to 1 or 2 civilians) may be due to blind belief that their family should not go inside cemeteries. eg. see Hyder &Tipus' cemetery how well maintained.We talk about the great contribution of K. R. wadeyar 4 the maker of modern Mysore.I hope at least now concerned will take care of it & display their great contribution & see the cemetery is well maintained.and protected.

Mysore Wadiyars served under Vijaynagar. During Talikote war, Hakka Bukka & Wadiyars betrayed Ramappa, it's recorded history. Wadiyars claim they are Yadhavs of Devgiri of Maharashtra is not true. Yadavs of Devgiri are Marathas besides they are very much in Maharashtra. It's strange Wadiyars claim they are Yaduvanshi, but they are Kannadigas & they call themselves Wadiyars and not Yadav. Wadiyars started celebrating Dasara following Vijaynagar rulers Ramappa. Dasara is celebrated since ages by Maratha Suryawanshi. Golden Houdha which is used during Mysore Dasara belongs to Devgiri Yadav. Ramappa was on the Golden Houdha of Devgiri during Talikote war. How Devgiri Golden Houdha Wadiyars have in their custody is debatable. Sahji's after defeating Kepegowda was given Bangalore as Jahangir & his elder son Venkoji inherted Bangalore. Secundrabad has First Maratha Centre which is named after Venkoji !!!!!
