Working in IT industry for the past 15 years. I love programming and management, so I don't feel the stress, backpain, migraine etc. etc. even if I had to burn the midnight oil in the past few years. I'm now aged 36 and don't face the risk of layoff. The thing is that we should do what we like, not to do just for the sake of salary. The latter will always bring stress and failures.

There were 100s of thousands IT jobs made redundant in various part of the world is how India became the IT hub. It was concidered as a cheap cost center to run the services. Unfortunately, now more cheap locations been found better than India. There is no secret and it is where IT ginats will move next. Vietnam, Indonesia, etc are all in the line and more than millions of IT jobs already created in last 2-3 years and increasing....

The statistics is not specific. They would give something like 10K out of total 3L employees, but the mid level may be in the range of 30K employees only. 10K/30K is 30% employees in that JL6 grade. 10K/300K is just 3%. This is dirty statistics game to fool the world.
