The problem with sober media and voices of opposition (not Congress; they are B-Team of BJP) like Newslaundry and few others is that, they are only pointing out in a defensive way, while the BJP is misusing power in an aggressive way. I detail what I said, for clarity; As our friend mentioned about how Sudha Bhardwaj, Umar Khalid, Kappan and others being put in jail imposing UAPA on them, he should have mentioned other cases too, which deserved to be acted upon under UAPA but the BJP government chose to turn a blind eye towards them. I shall put few examples; If 10 people were arrested for playing cricket on some terrorist's birth/death anniversary, then similarly all those who were celebrating Nathuram Godse and firing fake bullets at Gandhi Statue should also been booked under UAPA. If Umar Khalid was booked for assumed Hate Speeches then Anurag Thakur, Kapil Mishra, and many others deserved to be booked under UAPA too. If Sudha Bhardwaj & few others are alleged of being part of a conspiracy and 3 years down the line if NIA or Police are yet collecting evidences and filing chargesheets, then why wasn't Davinder Singh charged under UAPA, especially after being caught red handed in company of terrorists carrying arms. In fact, the Delhi Police (comes under Home Ministry of Mr.Amit Shah) failed to file a chargesheet in the given 100days and court had to grant him bail. Dear Newslaundry, don't be so defensive and let's not be cry babies, "Dekho na, yeh log Kaisa Kar rahe hain" types... Let's ask tough and relevant questions and run a campaign around it. Arnab's foolish case is heard in SC on priority but Stan is denied a sipper. I say denied, because the delay is as bad as denying. Ask questions... Keep asking... And keep repeating... This is India, not Hitler's Germany! And my msg to RW blind devotees, don't forget you are people first, then supporters or voters of a political party. Vote whomsoever you wish, but stand by the truth and other fellow citizens. Many of the farmer's protesting must have voted to BJP but that Vote is not secrigaded by the ruling party. When it has brought in an Anti-Farmer Law, it is affecting them all. Farmers who were BJP voters aren't spared. Aaj koi aur hai, kal tumhara number aayega. So, before that Wake Up & Rise! Save the Democracy! Jai Siya Ram 🙏 Jai Hind 🇮🇳

the uapa case in j and k, involving the 10 young men got me thinking. i guess its natural for people to honor their loved ones, even though they might not be model citizens. i read the full article by quint, no one even acknowledged the militant's wrongdoings. his family is definitely more broken by his death than his actions. the phrase 'took my son from me' sounds so heartbreaking coming from a father, but things get more complicated when the son in question is a terrorist. however, celebrating your friend's or family member's life CANNOT BE CONSIDERED TERRORISM...even if the ethics of that life are questionable.

Where is the golden triangle of FRs 14,19 & 21? SC seems to have looked the other way when Art.19 was touched up in the Parliament to let the latest amendment of UAPA of 2019 go through. Maybe I am not correct-checkup with the legal luminaries. Meanwhile, in the European Union common public goes for huge protests to Protect their RIGHT TO PROTEST. Ready to die of Covid19 than spend a few minutes with the Law (Police) about something their Politicians might have done in the Parliament.

This makes me think the basic principle of law as declared in the books of the law: "The law is for the man and not man for the law". Again, if we can come across statements given by young revolutionaries from 1930s in the assembly bomb case. The "motive" needs to be understood by the law makers. Remove that motive from the protectors of the law and there shall remain no difference between them and murderers. Presently, the law seems to be in the hands of people who hold a huge interest in gaining political power. Law used for power gain is another degradation of democracy.

We are very thankful to you for giving us such a detailed and analytical view of this UAPA. As very rightly pointed out by you even Mr.Vajpayee was against this law many decades ago. Now that this law has come into force the Govt. has the right to use this BUT this should be applied righly apply to people who really deserve this treatment and not against any innocent person. This is blatant misuse of law. Secondly even if some persons are arrested under this law there should be a very speedy and just trial to really find out the truth. Here this is completely ignored with cases related to the persons you mentioned in your talk. Justice delayed is justice denied. As the saying goes “ It does not matter much if a criminal escapes the punishment but on no account should a Innocent person be punished. The BJP Govt. have already stretched themselves to the limit.
