I actually agreed with Chris on a lot of this. As a retired Staff Sergeant, I honestly didn't know any woman who can do the work of an infantryman or artilleryman. We simply didn't have the upper body strength to do it without the standards being lowered. I am proud of my 21 years in the military and I am also a veteran. But my physical fitness standards were lower than my male counterparts' standards.

As a wife of a former Marine and as someone who processed military members going overseas, not only do I agree with not having the upper body strength and overall lower standards than your counterparts, but I was appalled at the obesity of many of the female and some of the male military members. I was like this is who is protecting our country? Back when my husband was in the Marines and we lived on base, the majority of the members were in shape and those who weren’t were either ordered to get into shape and some were discharged. It is unacceptable the overall state of our military, and I as a woman believe there are many areas women can be effective in the military but combat isn’t one of them.

I was raised in a time where men fought and protected their women and children. Times have changed and we now have women fighting. I don’t have a problem with that as long as they are qualified and held to the same standards. Women are much better at multitasking and I think they have a lot to offer if they pass the same tests as the men. I agree that it’s their choice on whether or not they want to serve. I also agree with the commentator that I wouldn’t want my daughter to serve in combat, however, I wouldn’t want that for my son either or any soldier. I hate war but it seems to be part of life.

In the Infantry, you are taught mission first, men second. DEI is a threat to combat readiness. It's not a threat to the military as there are a plethora of jobs that women can do. Even better than men (gathering intelligence, civil affairs for example). But reducing standards to slot them into combat arms is destroying combat readiness.

The criticism about trans people serving in the military isn't about them "taking over the army". It's about the unnecessary disruption it causes having to cater to their quirks in what is a regimental environment. The Secretaries of Defense without prior military experience were Neil H. McElroy, Robert S. McNamara, Harold Brown, and Mark Esper. So is Pete Hegseth less qualified than them? Received 2 Bronze Stars and rose to the rank of Major. Also, why was no mention made when Kamala Harris ran for the presidency that her husband had a very sordid past with women including assault?... Yet the Senate - Republicans and Democrats -- all voted to confirm him by a voice vote. Indeed, ALL of Bill Clinton's cabinet nominations were approved by all Republican Senators or all but two of them, except solely for the nomination of Alexis Herman as Secretary of Labor (which 13 Senators opposed, but she was still confirmed). The confirmation hearings involved none of the spectacle that the Democrats engage in now.
