Not to mention how these families teach their children in ins an outs of the "SPORT". You have rules and regulations on sizes of your catch, how many of each species of fish your allowed to take and the reasons why you can't take more etc..I'm not a fisherman but I've watched the TV shows about hunting and fishing and what it means to ppl. Don’t be mistaken. There have always been people like this. People who lie, steal, cheat. That’s nothing new. Even back in the medieval ages. I like to think we’re getting better as a society as to how we deal with those people. “Innocent until proven guilty” doesn’t always work in day to day life. People are going to have opinions. But I like to think our court system has improved dramatically. Where as at one point you could be accused of being a witch with absolutely no proof and be sentenced to death. But now the playing field is relatively fair. Everyone wants you to have a fair trial so there is no room for error and possibly convicting an innocent person. Those in this video clearly are guilty. Plead guilty and caught on camera. But they’re still treated fairly, like anyone else. That’s their right as a human being and that would be your right if you were in that situation as a defendant. Try to look at the glass as half full. Yeah there are some shitty people in this world but there are also some amazing people that would give you the shirt off their back. 😊

Over two decades of Pro tournaments under my belt - a few Wins, lots of top 5's....the time invested, the work missed, the missed events with my kids, the strain on a marriage from time to time, the daily life choices and changes of plans to accommodate 'pre-fish' or tourney weekends----this for me, I wish I could take back. In hindsight, that it was never worth it. I missed 'dad time' with my kids..who are now 20 yr old women...I regret that most. If there is any advice to young guys with a young family - take the kids fishing first and foremost. Make memories..THIS is your dad job. Tournaments don't give you chest beating notoriety when they are adults..the time with them, is the chest beating trophy. Today, I still do the odd tourney - one day of practice (at most) and I take the competitive side a little less serious...I have found that I enjoy the sport more, and the results are better than before. It's been a Win..AND I take my girls out to practice without the tourney brain turned on. Another win. These cheaters should have had their fishing/hunting licenses pulled for life...returned all monies owed (IF a lie detector test showed cheating prior)...and a real jail time. Set the bar high for future scumbags. All the best in 2023 folks.

Two adults (Heynes) got a combined 10 years and 4 months sentence for killing a 2 month old child in Benton County Arkansas. A judge (Naramore) got acquitted of all wrongdoing after leaving his child in the car to die in the summer heat in Hot Springs, AR. He was reinstated as a judge and retired a few years later. As it always goes with offenders who get caught these two are appearing to be remorseful and well rehearsed it seems. I think the remorse is mostly because they got caught. I notice they did not address the suggestion of cheating in other tournaments and I think it should have been addressed. Additionally, why do judges think they should cut slack to offenders when there is the option to do so. Mr Fisher makes the point very well that he too has suffered because of the sorriness of these two criminals and the misery and loss suffered by the other competitors. @@DR-cm4hi I don’t think you understand the type of people that do these tournaments. These people are usually blue-collar hard-working types that have no patience for cheating. Of course it’s illegal to beat them over cheating but I promise ya friend more than a few people have been beaten for pulling stunts like this.

It would have been a ass whipping for far more than just fish! A lot of money and sacrifice involved.

If cheaters got dealt with no more men would be winners in women’s sporting events. Period!

True… that’s extremely similar to what I commented… “no different than Lia Thomas saying “transgender women are not a threat to women’s sports” 🫡

That’s a damn good judge we need more like him. I’m happy with the outcome but they should owe money for every other tournament they won too
