Chris, you never disappoint. As someone who only needs to dabble in Photoshop occasionally for work, it always amazes me to see the unique tricks and styles you produce in each video. I'm particularly satisfied learning about how each layer has it's non-destructive properties that help to save time and increase work productivity.

I couldn’t figure out how my filter gallery preview looked different to yours and then realised I had a pink as my foreground colour selected, doh! Another great tutorial, thanks!

I wanted to do this effect a few weeks ago and was disappointed when I didn't find a tutorial from you. I had to follow other people, and nobody does it quite so well. So thanks for this!

It's worth mentioning that you can easily tweak effect by adding curves/levels adjustment layer directly above your image, or playing with sliders in black and white adjustment layer.

Hi thanks for the tutorial, mate. Anyway, it works better for me when the blending was either soft light or hard light. But maybe that's preference. Anyway, well done!

when i try to use the filters my image just turns white any solution?
@jakubhoza29873 жыл бұрын
when i go to filters and choose halftone pattern, i dont see any dots or lines, just black screen..
@naruaztec4 жыл бұрын
When I add the filters the color changes. Halftone changes it to purple and torn edges changed it to blue. Anyone know why this is happening? thanks

2 years late, but make sure that your foreground and background colours are set to the default black and white (there’s a button above your foreground and background colour squares that looks like a tinier version of them, click on that; it’s a shortcut to reset the colours to the default values.) I’ve had this happen to me a bunch of times before; hopefully you got it sorted out!

Great tutorial. But I noticed one odd thing. Is it just me or is the model's nose turning in one direction while her mouth turns into the opposite direction? It looks somehow like the portrait picture had been composed of several other fotos not taking into account each of the source image's perspective.
@tomasescobar76502 жыл бұрын
or maybe her face is just like that. no one`s facial features are perfectly allinieated

I did everything step by step, but instead of this effect after I chose Hard Mix - my photo just becomes super white, like I can see only the most dark parts of it and all the rest is just white.

Try to zoom to 100% it's same issue like fake banding, photoshop uses graphics card to give you preview of what your doing, but only at values like 100% zoom or 33% 50% 66,67% it will look close enough. So yea it's working like it should you just don't see it. For more info watch this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l6PXh5KvbaZpptk

@@genesis2303 Thank you! I watched the video and tried zooming in/out - but it doesn't fix the issue. So no, it's not working as it should, unfortunately.

@@OixxoArt hmm than maby photo u used is super bright, and you need to tone it down with levels or curves?
@OixxoArt4 жыл бұрын
@@genesis2303 I tried it on different photos - it's all the same. Also I guess this still should work in any case on any photo and not make it whiter...

@@OixxoArt hmm what else could it be, make sure you are at 8 bits RGB mode, and have rgb color settings like this (RGB field): i.imgur.com/XGmvvHW.png
