I used to think of my life in weekly, then monthly, than yearly, now I finally can think 5 years out. Each time that happened I gain insight and soon my net worth double or triple. He wants to encourage long term thinking. He used to have a clock only move once in 100 years, that is moving TOO FAST for him. The guy is a charlatan or a uninspired salesman at best; he has been knocking off the business models from the past (sears used catalogs and Amazon is using the internet) and boomers have been showering him with their retirement money and somehow we are supposed to take him seriously? Refer to his partnership with rivian and the pace of their electric truck development and you can extrapolate how they will do in the space race. This comes down to a war between generations or generational thought, as musk represents millennials/z's and bezos reps boomers and some portions of older millennials (you can predict who will win if you recognize the strengths that lies within the generations).

Its utterly ridiculous. In a few years Bezos will be 60. If he wasn't able to put anything into orbit within 20 years, shouldn't it be blatantly obvious for him that with this pace his time is simply running out? His vision of space stations might be scientifically more sound than a Mars colony. But it cannot possibly be his plan to become 200 years old to actually see it coming to fruition.

Thank you. Yes, I'm glad there are more companies competing in the space industry. But when a company has not achieved anything significant in so many years, it's really hard to believe in them and wonder if they are ever gonna make it. Well I wish them luck with New Glenn if they keep up to their words of it's first flight in 2021.
@AliothAncalagon

@@IsMaski Thats basically the last straw for me. If Blue Origin is slow af, but going to deliver 2021 its at least true to their slogan and thats not too late to turn the corner to become relevant. But if they are going to delay the New Glenn further this reveals that the slower timescales of Blue Origins aren't even more reliable to compensate for that.

Kinda dumb argument since it doesnt mean sh*t. A leader's role is a unique and necessary role, you can have an army of genius engineers but theyll be useless without a good leader. Einstein was a genius but far from an entrepreneur and was basically being r***ed from all sides by all sorts of governments. So if Jeff has someone like einstein working on his rockets does it make him less valuable cuz he aint one himself? Having said that, Elon is simply a modern day DaVinci, he's in a completely different league as Jeff and being an "engineer" himself has little effect on that. He's actually a self-taught one at that as well, no engineering degree or any type of bs like that.

I got the feeling there’s also an explanation concerning Elon musk. There are 3 kind of people : those who don’t even know him and his companies, those who hates him sincerly whatever he does, and those who love him sincerely whatever he does. Dealing with his companies works the same. Great historic clients seems to not bearing him enough so they are ready to deal with ANYONE, but not SpaceX or Tesla 😅. Doesn’t import if SpaceX or Tesla competitors didn’t’ even gave a single proof of their concepts, the most important is that they claim to be as advanced as SpaceX/Tesla or more. The fact for example huge Companies like IVECO and General Motors made a deal with the biggest automotive Fraud company of the 21th century (NIKOLA), who claimed loudly they had the most advanced techs in the world ....let me speechless. Remember, when fear, jealousy or hatred drives you, you are going nowhere but in the wall.

Blue Origin and SpaceX are two completely opposite companies that it's insane to think about. Blue Origin is pretty much the kind of company that I've never liked, they like to talk big, spend big but at the end of the day, never have anything substantial to show for it. They have multiple offices and facilities across the country and don't have a single thing to show for it other than the BE-4 Engine which blew up sometime back. SpaceX is out here getting things done in metal tents out on a beach. If I had the brains, I would have loved to work for SpaceX.
