NEWT Aquarium BUILD! NOT the BEST Paludarium Build but Pretty Good

Alright my first attempt at creating a paludarium for my Danube Crested Newt. I had a lot of fun building this and trying to figure out how to do it with items in my fish room. It didnt turn out as expected especially since there was no expectations lol. But the main goal was to give the newts a new home. Im pleased with how it came out. Join me as I go through the process. I’ve seen Tanner use his Tanner version of the ABG mix substraight on land, for plants. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him use it like this. He usually uses sand and various gravel sizes and/or botanicals underwater. Interesting.

i literally wanted to make a newt tank and add my endler fish and shrimps but i was concerned for the fish but i see that they can live together well. And the build is awesome too, really great work, keep it up!

Love the setup man!!! Definitely giving me ideas for some new-t setups(badum tss). Some Pothos on the driftwood or some Water Lettuce/Salvinia might be neat on the water side, the newt may even lounge about on Water Lettuce.

ive seen all serpa vids... and never seen him use this substrate in the water... gravel or sand where the water flows and substrate is for dry parts of the terrarium. or you add gravel around the pump where water flows and add substrate on top so it would look like underground stream. nice work tho! i had guppies as low as 5ph by not knowing and they where perfect, gh was high tho... or swap for tetras or even better killis, clown killis... ´´doing with what i have around the house´´ lol i bet most of us wont find what you have even in a pet store warehouses :)))

Danube river just flows at 10 minutes of walking from my home. These newts survive freezing, as here in Romania, Danube can freeze near the shore. Also Danube it is considered to be the "Amazon" of Europe, forming an amazing Delta (Danube Delta). This is one of the places that need to be visited at least once in a lifetime. The aquatic life is very diverse with many species of fish, shrimp, birds and all the rest. Just search Danube Delta on youtube and you will be amazed...

Build looks awesome brother! I had an idea, I know you have a riccia carpet on the surface of one of your other tanks, and I was thinking it might be cool to throw some of that in on the back part of the water, maybe the little dude would enjoy to have a surface that's also in the water some to hang out on, just an idea. Looking forward to see how this grows out!

I do still have some in that tank and it grows mostly all out of water besides the rooms and bottoms of the stems. Bolbitis Difformis.

You should have done it like you would do a corner met and filter to create the waterfall effect

The sound of the water is great but at the end of the video it sounds like the pump is clogged with dirt and that is probably why it stopped working. Great video though. It would be awesome to see some soft water tetras in there
