Something I've done to remove your need for the mineral spirits step is to put blue painters tape down on the wood first, then with the spray adhesive spray your paper and attach that to the blue painters tape. Then when it comes to removal it's as easy as removing the tape. No gloves, no mineral spirits.
@disasterdogs8 ай бұрын
you can also use packing tape. The glue from the packing tape acts like a lubricant and makes the cuts extremely smooth.
@hikesperry83392 жыл бұрын
You do an extraordinarily good job of explaining the detail of what you are doing and why you are doing it. Nice to know the specs of the drill bits, wood, etc. Even though I've been scrollsawing off and on for a number of years and don't do intarsia, I learned a lot from this video. Thanks for posting.

Great job! I have a tip for you. I put painters tape on my board, spray the adhesive on that, then the pattern on the tape then cover with packing tape. It's a lot easier (for me) to remove the painters tape from the finished work than using mineral spirits, etc. to remove adhesive residue from finished work. Hope that makes sense. Finished product looks great!!

@HyperactiveNeuron3 жыл бұрын
Of course this is incredible! A trick I've used with purple heart is to thermally treat it and it will turn from dull to vibrant. I put it in the oven @350° for an hour. It will likely smoke. Disable your smoke alarms or have your HVAC set to fan on and have some cross ventilated windows open. It will be sticky from the natural wood oil that provides the color so gloves and the l let it cool... Then have fun. It'll turn a much, much deeper color. This works ion other woods too but I'm no expert. The Snekker Show here on YT has a couple videos on it. He does a lab like test too show the effect.

Using parcel tape does lubricate the blade - particularly when cutting plastic which will weld itself together as you cut it (if you stop the blade is stuck in the middle of the plastic)
