As promised, we are back with our ‘Pan Class in Session’ where we feature a few school-related Steel Bands. As our children head back to school, we thought we would use this month to feature some junior steel orchestras or schools with a steel band program. If you know of any Steelbands that you would like featured, please send us the clip and their information. We head back to Newtown in Trinidad, to the Newtown Girls RC Steel Band. Last year the band shared their arrangement of Michael Jackson’s ‘Free Willy’. Today, they kick off our segment with one of my favourite songs, Stevie Wonder’s ‘Overjoyed’.
