One Great Hand: #1 Andrew Robson

Once, due to a succession of unlikely events, my partner and I got.to play against Andrew Robson at table 1 in the EBU Summer Congress on Sunday afternoon (final session). Thanks to he and his partner having a bidding misunderstanding on one hand, we only lost 16-4, I recall. It was clear at the time that he plays on a completely different level from us mere mortals. And, if you are interested, next round we played against people who knew us at the club (West of England Bridge club in Bristol, also Andrew's old club in the 80s). They didn't fall for our shenanigans and we had another big loss, ending up barely in the top third of the field.
