NW is/was my favorite MMO ever. 2k+ hours since beta and fully leveled 5 characters. It was a blast despite the mess. The game is so beautiful and has so much potential, unfortunately the incompetence/negligence of the dev team just breaks our trust at every turn.

I’ll be honest, something that makes me want to play this game is all the negative reviews that go something like “I have *insert some number in the thousands here* and I’m out of stuff to do”. If I can get 1000 hours out of a game, I would be psyched. MMO’s are also hard on the console so any opportunity to get another decent one is welcome.

I have over 2k hours on it and haven't played in over a year. It's a good game, its just that there was no end game. I don't think they have added anything new to PvP in the last 3 years. The game was super buggy and when you had the massive wars, things would lag and people would disconnect. Then there were the politics with Companies. Eventually, territories were all owned by the same Companies, so unless you were part of those companies or were one of the companies to declare war, you weren't going to be chosen to participate in any wars. I did play the beta and I thought it felt and looked really nice which actually made me miss the memories I made with my old company mates. If your a console player who has never played it I would highly recommend it, I'm sure console players will probably love it. As for myself who has gone through the ups and downs of the game, I don't see myself coming back to it. I do wish the game success with console.

If you're new to NW, have fun! Just don't expect to be good at PVP right away. Its a small community and theres always a veteran willing to show you some stuff in duels. As a veteran myself, im waiting for the roadmap to come out to even consider installing again. Most of my 5k hours are in the first year of the game but damn I'm still recovering from how messed up that was. Maybe another year in the oven and it will be something you can safely spend 2-3 hours on every day and not run out of stuff to do. Scot Lane can retire anytime. I've been excited for Throne and Liberty to drop in the U.S but it got delayed until 10/1 (or end of Sept for early access). Happened to find the New World Aeternum beta in the Xbox store without even knowing it was coming to console! Definitely going to give it a shot this weekend. I've been craving a new MMO since BDO (which I've logged nearly 4k hours on). Best action combat I've ever played in an MMO but I really miss raids, dungeons, etc. that WOW and other MMO's brought to the table. In regard to games played over 1k hours, I've also put over 3k hours into Destiny 2, around 2k hours in Destiny 1 and the Lord only knows how many hours I spent in Never Winter, WOW, Aion and Tera back in the day! Can't wait to see more of your content, keep it up!

You got my sub bc you explained NWA very well. The thing that made me sure I would sub, was that you mentioned FFXI. I played FFXI on Xbox for countless hours. I loved farming items, crafting, and selling on the AH. I also enjoyed hunting NMs. I played that game a lot solo, but also as part of a group. I think I played it from 2001 to 2009/whenever they ditched Xbox. That was a game I enjoyed even at the thousandth hour, and played it well beyond that. The wrap up you did was very nice as well. It's true one can become addicted to a game. I certainly was addicted to FFXI for a time. I also like that you quoted the actual wolf of Wallstreet, Jordan Belfort. That was interesting. Why all the hate from players that had sunk 500-1000+ hours into the game? $60 games nowadays gives you about 100 to 200 hours and that's about it. NW can easily give you 500+ hours for casuals and you still talk trash about it like it didn't entertain you for more than what you paid for? People always have something to complain about. First, I love you man. I have been following you and this channel for awhile but this is (IMO) a prime example of toxic positivity. The developers straight up lied to its player base about features, constantly overhyped and underdelivered on updates. The argument about 1k hours is a moot point when the entire time players lived in a state of "oh they are gonna do better im sure". The fact the developers acted smug and unappreciative of the players who were effectively testing their game for 3 years only to have them pretend they were doing something for them and then get announced oh no updates cause we want console was a spit in the face to alot of us. Now they want to rebrand it as an "action RPG" because they can have a lapsed update schedule and not have to worry about doing what the game was sold to hundreds of thousands of players as. This video really feels like a sponsored video and I hope you understand the frustration videos like this create for players who loved this game and got crapped on by the developers. I didn't know anything about the beta until I logged into my Xbox over the weekend. Decided to give it a try and I had a great time with it. Looking forward to the relaunch. Overall, I believe it's definitely worth playing the game again. It's much improved compared to its initial release, making it a great experience for new players. For returning players, there's plenty of fresh content to explore. As a veteran myself, I can say that you'll likely come back because, in my opinion, this game represents the pinnacle of what an MMO should be. Its what an mmo should be Tab target mmos and minecraft graphics are so old school man

There is an achievement for playing 720 hours, only 4.1% of players achieved this to this date. 12/9/2024. Hundreds of achievements have less than 10% achievement of the overall player base, with many less than 5%. There is without a doubt, cost per hour is well worth it. 4K+ hours so far for less than 100 bucks in 3 years for all. Hands down enough said.

I played New World first time back late 2022 and Summer of 2023 for Elysian Wilds, I loved it, the leveling, made each build, (DMG, Tank and Healer each time and found fun in those roles) However, the part that made me stop is the endgame PVE, I couldn't play expeditions consistently and was difficult to find a group to build that gamer group to look forward to playing with and feeling accomplished. I hope this game comes back and some old friends return.

I left my negative review after 3k hours because they strive to appease new players and not the concurrent long term player. The bugs this past season really killed it. I love new world and also hate new world. Most discords i join have the same complaint and meme the game by coining it as bug world

I really really like MMO's, however a big problem with the whole concept is that studios are required to constantly release great content, so that everyday you log on you can have an amazing experience in a game thats designed to be played alot and to act as sort of a second world to live in. The issue is that the developers live in the real world, we all still live in the real world. Everyday is not a good day. Not everything in life is exciting. Growing as a person, developing yourself and your relationships takes time, as well as its not all sunshine and rainbows..its honest work and frankly sometimes it just sucks badly. Have a great day.

The draw I had toward New World was the combat. I really like action combat and MMO, so the two coming together made me happy. BUT I am actually really leaning GW2 or Elder Scrolls now a days.

After a 6 months off from NW and return today to have a go and see how is it doing and nothing change. Still the same oprs laggy, abilities doesn't connect properly sometimes works good others u miss everything abilities do not connect properly, open world is dead but is normal because of the low players number unfortunately I think this console thing will be a fiasco. Ho well I had fun in the past and my 3k hours I had good memories and good time worths every penny I paid. Hopefully new players will have a good experience lvl up until they get to end game or after few 100 hours then is when the game really doesn't shine.

No "mega" server seems bad. Then further separation if ppl choose no crossplay also seems bad for population longevity. Beta had no xbox or console only servers to try. Trying to play w friends in beta was already a pain in ass... idk

Dude, yeah, mega services are going to be an issue because players don't want to really deal with it... at least most players don't want that, I do think they're moving in that direction though. time will tell. For release they will have dedicated servers for console players just fyi, it didn't make sense to do that for a beta IMO.

The first 60 hours of the game is fun for players that haven't played an mmorpg before, since new world has fun combat with mediocre quest design that is worse than vanilla wow. So when players tell others that it is a fun game but a bad mmo, that's clearly what they are referring to. Unfortunately, the paid shills for AGS games will try desperately to find any pushback against the criticism for this game. If New world was able to just copy what other mmo's are able to do in this engine, players would be very satisfied. We unfortunately have a dev team that has admitted themselves that they can not have npc in game talk to other npc in game outside of cutscenes. That's pretty sad.

The game that you put thousands of hours into and it still gets better exists. Its path of exile. That said, its an indie game that evolved to a huge game and has its flaws. A lot of players say its hard to get into. Path of exile 2 starts in november with crossplay, splitscreen and so on. Thats the game that im the most excited for. New world was a lot of fun. I might go back, but atm i have no interest in going back, that said i did everything in this game and it feels like i played through it.

Almost 4k hours into this game, since September 28th 2021, the very first release date. Loved the game, still love it a bit :)) I'm more of a PVP player, thank PVE but I really hope this time AGS will do things right. Step by step, but just so they will listen to this amazing community. Just enjoy the game for what it is. Dont have your expectations high at all. If you want new thing just expect they won’t be added. If you want to give feedback just know you will be ignored. If you have all this as an expectation going into the game you’ll actually have a good time. But again set your expectations so low that you won’t be disappointed.

Dota 1 into dota2. Probably 8-9k hours into them, 4k respectively) and i honestly still enjoy it... alltho the community has its ups and downs. Hopin for NW tho! Never got past 45 at launch, all m8s quit. 🎉

haha long time dota player here since 2003. New world was fun pvp wise but the pve grind got boring. Then the pvp got old with taking forever to balance. Only because they left pvp alone and focused pve

I got a brand new account yesterday and controller support is in there. I'm just trying understand gameplay and witch weapons are for me. Will probably jump on a new cross platform server and use the character as practice for that.

Not trying to be negative but New World is not worth it even with the new update. Unless they changed the fact that the base game itself will become inaccessible after this if you don't own the expansion, that's what I remember reading, it's not worth it. No other MMO I know of does this. Add on top of that the fact that to use mounts which are available all over game even, you still need access to expansion. Amazon has some balls to be trying to sell this game all over again. I had over 200 hours in this but at some point, I just gave up, servers felt dead asf. If the game becomes unavailable after this update to people without expansion, this is as good as dead on arrival.

Not typically an MMO player, but my idea of a perfect game is an ARPG that regularly gets new content. I'm definetly gonna try the beta since i really like the art style and the vibe.

New world is worth giving one more (last) chance with this re-release for sure. Give it some time as well, wait for the next big patches/content updates. Then make a decision. We need to see the new developers touch of the game, if it will be the Romanians or just a change with the existing ones doesn't really matter, the new approach we need to see.

I love collecting resources in the game and enjoy the tranquility of playing solo. It's my most relaxing game. I've spent 5,000 hours on it, lol. The visuals are great, and the music is nice too though.
