I still am quite sure Woble does not have a Guardian Spirit Beast, and her nen is because she's Beyond's child. The language about the Seed Urn ceremony is very specific, and states that after the drop of blood is put into the top, the prince must put their hand into its mouth with a strong desire to be King of Kakin. This mindset is impossible for an infant to understand and have. Just like how the exact language of the Princes being children of legal wives, and not children of the King was plot relevant, this one must be too. Otherwise Togashi wouldn't have written it that way.

Momoze straight up says she doesn't have what it takes to rule, Kacho and Fugetsu explicitly didn't want to participate and I'm pretty sure that Maryam, while older than Wobble, is still in the "doesn't fully get what's happening" camp. I don't think any of them could be said to have "strong desire to be the ruler of Kakin" besides maybe Fugetsu for the sake of her sister

This is off topic but always thought that Neon was killed by her father. He was going crazy last time we saw him and Neon was just mildly confused and concerned with her ability no longer working. That relaxed behavior in contrast with her dad losing his sanity a few steps away made me think she probably asked for something really big that she previously thoughtlessly enjoyed and sent him over the edge. Idk i always had this thought of him strangling her once Chrollo confirms he no longer has the ability.

Same. It's not hard to imagine, Togashi just left it open ended bc our minds will restlessly examine it. Neon is ignorant and unempathetic, ironically for reading something as complex as fortunes. She's terrible at reading people: Chrollo, Kurapika, her father etc. showing genuin mourning for their losses. Except Light constructed this by constantly helicoptering her, it was purposely conveyed that Neon was annoying. She doesn't read the room, her tragegidy is that anyone and everyone including her father really tolerated her for her gifts or status. She's lost both those things and she's not aware of the ramifications. A litteral boiling frog that lived in ignorance and well die there. With Togashi leaving us with, "I'll leave it up to your imagination." All we are sure of is that Light sucks and he's the true of evil of that arc. Religiously hiding behind his daughter and acting like a mafia boss. A literal nothing character. Weak minded and selfish to the core. The escalation to his depravity was apparent.

I've been thinking about that possibility of Phinks and Feitan walking to their death to power up Borksen, and while it facilitates things, it would feel so damn cheap to have two of the most hyped members just die to nen newbies. They would have to walk into a lot of traps and conditions for it to happen, there is NO WAY they die in direct combat, it would be straight up poor writing. I can see it happening, but I can't say I agree with that choice.

Bro I REALLY do not mind how many chapters we spend on seemingly random, seemingly small moments like we have been lately. Spending time getting to know two interesting, deep, nuanced characters better, learning more about Morena (arguably THE most intriguing character in the arc)'s ambitions and reasons behind them, exploring her crazy nen powers and the general intrigue a game like this brings to the table in and of itself like a slice of Akagi (or of course Yugioh), and just tons of fascinating, thrilling and even at times oddly adorable content throughout. I'm at a point at which I'd happily read ANYTHING Togashi cooks up; any amount of time spent with any combination of characters doing anything, I know it's going to be fulfilling in some way and almost definitely has some important reason for being explored.

Here strategies and not offensive skills are important, a passive condition could be used to defeat a powerful oponent if used in a right way. Kurapika is only a specialist when the eyes are activated. Also, its a ability that might be only his, others might just get stronger aura and/or change afinities to something else. I dont think its impossible to have other survivors but its certainly not pertinent to Borksen story.

Borksen got Morena to go beyond the rules when pressing her about changing her mind. To that point she kept to the rules "yes" or "no" when borksen pressed on this last question though Morena finally cracked and went beyond the Yes/No after which Borksen stopped questioning. This seems meaningful.

He had a bronken arm and not much more than that, if Zazan was strong enough to put him in the brink of Death I don't know if it would have been so contained, and spider silk is stronger than any material we know, Togashi probably didn't account for that but if he did that explosion is much stronger than it seems.

Like Meruem but actually interested in Nen - though just cause its cool. So cause he likes the Pokemon Skittie, thinks himself a Born Leader and for more reasons, he creates a Nen-Beast looking like a certain Pokemon, but made out of pure gold-coloured Aura; its Tail acting like an Antenna that attracts and absorbs the Nen-Ability of every deceased Loyal-Servant who swore Loyalty, did a little Ritual with Him once (needs to be renewed every half a year) and has then died. Extreme Restrictions that he bares with a smile allow for Insanely Powerful Specialist Nen. Every Death transfers the Main-Ability, forcing the Corpse to activate Post-Mortem-Nen but if Post-Mortem-Nen happens by itself, then all the better: then all Hatsu get transfered AND its a bit more powerful when used by its new User, the Owner of the Golden Skittie. Whichever Hatsu is the Main-One gets Transfered normally and gets to be used by Percentages as if he is whatvever the Type of the original User was. Funny enough, most wouldnt realize this is a Risk in itself, as inhering one Ability is not as good as Another and there could even be a Kastro-Case - imagine inheriting a Conju+Manipu Power from an Enhancer :) The first Time "Gratitude Antenna" [ Attract What's Yours ] activates is actually Not thx to a Servants Death! Second Time was sadder and first-time had an actual Servant dying, so this time he didnt smile. Litlte girl died, her Specialist-Nen having been to make An Art-Museum appear in her Head; in this Mind-Space all around her when activating the Ability is copied but all Objects and Peopple have little Plates on them explaining in great detail what they are, even if she never knew this info... Say, can you help coming up with Hatsu-Names? All languages allowed! I guess 'Narrator of No Tale' sounds nice but i am unsure.

Not really the engagement or point I was landing on but. He has a teacher that's actively sabatauging his progress, despite this he's learning the basics at break neck speed, and like the hatsu and 2nd nenbeast you partially mentioned, he's manifested them in pure ignorance. Gon and Killua had 2 proper teachers, one being the master of their initial teacher. Not to mention a lot of their progress rested on her hatsu, to rejuvenate their stamina. Heaven's arena a convenient facility for honing nen incrementally, and Greed island a rigorous but effective training facility provided by one the 5 best nen users in the world. With additional tuteledge from Kite. All the prince has to lean on is: the urn of the kakin, Theta his sabatouring teacher, and Kurapika's message making him aware of the concept of nen. All he was guided in was the water divination test and consistent state of Zetsu, which he had already cleared easily.

Extreme Restrictions that he bares with a smile allow for Insanely Powerful Specialist Nen. Every Death transfers the Main-Ability, forcing the Corpse to activate Post-Mortem-Nen but if Post-Mortem-Nen happens by itself, then all the better: then all Hatsu get transfered AND its a bit more powerful when used by its new User, the Owner of the Golden Skittie. Whichever Hatsu is Strongest gets Transfered normally and gets to be used by Percentages as if he is whatvever the Type of the original User was. One of my favorite interactions between two characters is when they both want to kill each other, both know they want to kill each other, but are working together anyway because for the time being their goals align. It recurs quite often in HxH with Kurapika and Hisoka, the gang on Greed Island with Hisoka, Ging and Pariston for example, which makes me believe that it could happen with Borksen and Morena as well. A lot of times these interactions, especially where Hisoka is involved, take on a very intimate quality, sometimes even crossing into overt sexual tension; and the two of them have that going in spades with their lengthy kiss and the entire twisted love that Contagion works on. The goals of all members of Heil-ly are murder, they have to be. All of them feed into Morena's goal of murdering everyone. Which means that murdering Morena, herself, not only qualifies as a goal - it's an inevitable part of the larger one! So Borksen openly advertising that her goal is to kill Morena, but they can't kill her Borksen because they need her Specialist talent right now, could absolutely work.

I am still holding out that we may be getting 20 chapters.. I really really hope it's not just the 10. I mean I am just happy in general to have any but I mean the succession war started all the way back in 2014 and it still feels like so much needs to happen let alone if we are going to have a whole dark continent arc after. The chimera ant arc was 132 chapters over an 8 year period, with the succession war it technically started in 2012 but really in 2014 but even then we have gotten 70 chapters in 10 years.. So assuming its another 30-40 chapters at least at the current rate that would be another 5 years or so to finish or if it is closer to the chimera ant arc it could be closer to another 8-9.. Togashi has been my favorite mangaka since I was a kid with yu yu Hakusho and I am still a little sad with how its final arc went so I would much rather him take his time. But assuming that the current arc is like 40 more chapters and the dark continent is another 110-120 even if we got a new chapter every other week which is about the pace we got chapters for earlier arcs like york new city that would be another 6+ years if the manga ended there. If its closer to 200 if there is a bit of a closing arc wrapping up Gon's whole story thats like 8. But who knows I just really hope if it does go on hiatus its not another 2 year thing.

The idea of Tserreidnich potentially being Beyond's child and working with him alongside Pariston was already a terrifying hypothetical. But now Tserreidnich's childhood friend is becoming a specialist who can fast track her aura growth and then add the rest of their friends to the group who can also be fast tracked makes that hypocritical even more scary. The one thing that was making Tserreidnich seem beatable was his seeming lack of any major allies, but if he turns out to be Beyond's son and Borksen is able to start her own Contagion game then he will suddenly be surrounded by extraordinarily powerful allies on top of becoming one of the greatest individual threats weve ever seen.

Morena’s ability also seems a bit like Chimera Ant queen I feel. Another topic to think about is what happens after the whale reaches the dark continent? Yes there’s a big IF it makes it. But imagine the absolute units that could come from the contagion. As soon as someone kills something on the dark continent, it could potentially cause a HUGE scale in power… also may have thought of a way for Gon to get his Nen back.. Morena could kiss all up on him. Unfortunately that would lead to him having to kill things which is unlike him.
