The tendency to use the term xenophobia when describing the valid issues South Africans have with illegal migration must stop. No one calls Europeans and Americans with the same sentiments xenophobic. This must stop, as it is a failure to understand the complexity of the illegal migration crisis and the nuanced impact on the poor and most vulnerable in South Africa.

We have Nurses, Doctors, Teachers sitting with their Degrees at home, some are even being retrenched, what is that American guy talking about ?
@MJoale16 сағат бұрын
I absolutely agree. We have trained more South African doctors in Cuba, and now they are unemployed post community service. The other challenge is hiring doctors from other African countries whose training is not equal to the South African standard (globally recognised), and often having to train them again as they cannot cope within our system. The other more important point, is they are fellow Africans yet often do not learn the local languages and insist on serving our people in English. If we hire them, they must learn the local languages so we do not need to hire translators at our cost or use nurses who have their own work to translate. Once our South African born and bred doctors qualify, these doctors from other African countries should leave and go back to their homeland. Our people must be prioritised, always. This also means we have a responsibility as black South African doctors to be excellent, serve our people well and ensure we are respecting and working well with the experienced nurses who are an asset in the system. However the political will to implement such a policy is lacking, and so our system will continue to deteriorate and these foreign African doctors will continue to earn our high doctor salaries at our people’s expense.

@@MJoale Foreign trained doctors - who are mostly highly experienced specialists with diverse language skills are not the problem. South Africa needs to establish a more equitable health system - one which better utilises the medical resources currently in place - both in the private and public sector. And the country needs to invest more in creating additional medical facilities and resources for the health sector.

@@Ash_Hole-f7pThe same reason why your grand parents migrated to South Africa in the first place. Migration is as old as man. Some would stay and some would migrate.

Please take the RDP houses as well from 🇿🇼. Why they own them, how did they get RDPs while poor SAns are still waiting for them and its been 30 years.
@MrRobertSobukwe3 сағат бұрын
How do you think the Zimbabweans got the RDPs in the first place? They actually bought them from "poor" South Africans who have chosen to sell - rather than keep their properties. It's not rocket science.

This is insane. How people left their countries and stay in other people's countries? Can you leave your family home unless you are married?
