Yes,there was no such debate. Reason being,most politicians were convicted of crimes relating to politics then. Apartheid government barred democracy and ultimately the goal was achieved.

Education system has failed in teaching history, civics and importantly developing critical thinking. For starters, Apartheid was a crime so criminal records for political prisoners like Mandela, Zuma et al were expunged. The current legal framework is based on the Constitution adopted & signed into law Dec 1996.
