I was considering 70mai A510, A810, and S500. I must say that initially I was very much enamored by the ADAS feature in those dashcams. But after I interacted with you in a previous video of yours, I realized that ADAS is practically unusable. So this dashcam seems to be at a nice sweet spot of reasonable price, resolution, and Starvis feature. Although it does not have Starvis 2, the readability of the plate seems to be ok, even for two-wheeler number plates. We are primarily concerned with a vehicle that has collided with us. So we don't need the dashcam to read plate at long ranges. Even if the dashcam can read the plate at a close range, it is enough! Also, after the incident, if the vehicle does not run away, we can capture its number plate with our mobile camera. So the primary value-addition of the dashcam is twofold: (a) positively identifying the other vehicle+driver, and (b) fixing the responsibility for the accident. For these purposes, this model seems to have perfectly adequate specs. Also, consider that many vehicles actually have a damaged/disfigured number plate, or the plate is missing altogether! So even 1 4k resolution and Starvis 2 cannot help us there! All in all, this product seems to be a very suitable option! 👍

1. Yes you can use the same app. But connection to each dashcam will be separate. Cannot connect both simultaneously. 2. In theory, capacitor based dashcams are better. But in reality (practical terms), there is no major issue reported anywhere with battery based dashcams. Both have been selling in India and abroad for a long time. If there was any issue with battery based dashcams, the sales would have gone down long time ago.

Yes it is sort of clear in night, in some particular angles. The IMX415 sensor can read number plates at night at certain angles of light. But only Starvis2 can read number plates irrespective of light angles. So definitely 70mai A810 has the upper hand

Yes it supports Evo Plus, but it has low read/write speeds which is not compatible in the long run. This camera records 4K video along with Full HD video simultaneously. Both are excellent cameras. Native 4K Starvis IMX415 vs 1944p Starvis 2 IMX675. It's a difficult choice. Overall video clarity and sharpness will be better in Prime Plus (in theory), but in low light performance, nothing can beat Starvis2.

Hello. I have tested the 70mai app extensive (on Android) and found it to be reliable and stable. That being said, the point to understand is that, you never have to use the app. Except for the first time when you install the dashcam, you have to sync the time to your smartphone (which is also not needed as you can set the time manually), you never ever ever never need to use or open the app for the rest of the dashcam's life. All settings can be monitored/altered straight from the display. All recorded videos can be played back on the screen. If required to share videos, simply take out the memory card, plug it into your laptop/pc and copy whichever video file you require, and you are done. The app has no part to play in the normal functioning and working of the dashcam. So even if the app is full of bugs, unstable, irresponsive etc, there is no need to worry as its an irrelevant aspect of using a screen based dashcam.

I want if i need a recording to share , I don’t want to remove card, go back to home, find the card reader, insert in laptop,get data from laptop to mobile , then share . That’s the real pain , as i get this same issue in mi home camera app where it adds another level to remove card from camera on a height. 2. Hi , special appreciation for your efforts in preparing a detailed video. Does 70mai have 3 channel dashcam with Starvix 2 ? I like the concept of Modular dashcam , but not sure of its durability in long term. I have Maruti Fronx and planning to buy a dashcam. I was confused between f17 and NexDigitron prime plus for 3 channel dashcam. This video has shifted my decision in favour of NexDigiton but would like to know if 70mai is planning for 3 channel dashcams in the similar price bracket, I am ok with 15-18k price range

1. Yes modular design is sturdy. Powerful magnets hold it in place. 2. Yes there will some level of difference, because dual channel mode can give you 4K resolution, but in triple channel mode you get QHD resolution. So the number plate readability distance will come down to about 10-15 feet in triple mode. In dual 4K mode, can read upto 20-25 feet.

It has voice control. ADAS is not a practical feature in dashcams as it's visual algorithm based and not LiDar based. Hence not needed.

I have bought Nextdigitron PrimePlus and also bought OBD2 KIT with OBD spitter. Camera is getting ON after Engine Off but parking mode videos are not getting Captured. I contacted support team but no response

Parking videos (timelapse) are recorded in the same folder as normal recordings. Not in a separate folder. If you have enabled collision detection, then it will get stored in a separate folder. Do check once properly. Enable timelapse mode, turn off the car and wait for the dash cam to turn off with notification on screen showing its entering 1fps mode

A510 vs Prime Plus 3 Channel - who wins ?

Both are excellent cameras. Native 4K Starvis IMX415 vs 1944p Starvis 2 IMX675. It's a difficult choice. Overall video clarity and sharpness will be better in Prime Plus (in theory), but in low light performance, nothing can beat Starvis2.

No thumbnail is a software bug. Needs to be patched via software update. File format needs to be changed to play on phone. Try playing on your pc/laptop. Same problem. File format has to be changed using a video editor software.

I haven't personally tested or compared Prime Plus with A510. But in theory, native 4K resolution and Starvis IMX415 should be better than 3K resolution Starvis 2 (alteast in daytime). But the difference will be marginally and not very drastic
