After considerable research, we felt the Nexstand and the Roost were the top two choices for foldable laptop stands. If you think that there is a better option out there, let us know!

Very useful info, thanks! Buck, I see lots of KZbin channels that have a store with links to the products they recommend. I'm wondering why you don't have one, or am I missing something?

What an absolutely LOVELY video. I already had made my choice of the stand but I just love you two. You are simply the best. How absolutely entertaining and authentic you seem. You sound like people I would love to have a chat or a coffee with or see a movie with. Love it. I am subbing immediately and look forward to seeing more videos. Thanks so much for doing this video - you two are just amazing!!

thanks...seeing them physically handled side by side gives the best gage of the size difference between the two, I think.

Awesome review! I love the personality :) I'm looking at these for elevating at home (alongside external monitor) and for standalone while traveling. Seeing the two reviewed side by side was very helpful. Thank you!

glad you liked the review...thanks for checking it out...when we had a permanent home base, I elevated my laptop with a cardboard box that set my computer screen to the perfect height--which worked fine--but it's not as easy to come by the perfectly sized box now that we're traveling all the time, so a laptop stand has become essential gear for me now.

Hey Buck and CG. I have spent my digital life on a desktop but was just reading this week an article on how to use a laptop as a desktop with gadgets such as yours. I also have been looking at little gadgets that allow the user to make their cars steering wheel into a desk for a laptop. I wonder if your stands could be converted to fit onto a steering wheel. I hope you guys do more review videos.
@SlowpokeTravel5 жыл бұрын
I think Elon Musk is working on some steering wheel/desk prototype stuff...hopefully we'll see the fruits of that research in our lifetime

If you're looking for the most compact travel size, then the Roost is the way to go. But that's only if packing size is the MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR. For me, size is an important consideration, but even so I'm fine with the Nexstand. If I lost my Nexstand tomorrow, I would simply buy another one. It works great and it's half the price.

Informative and fun video. Thank you for this! I bought a Nexstand 😊

Thanks for your video, really fun to watch too! Btw, why not glue these tabs with some hot glue. It's strong enough not to lose them, but still "easily" removable when needed (even just a 💧 will do). Also, how secure does it feel with the stand? I saw you showed how the tabs grip the laptop, but was interested to know how fast the feet of the BASE tip over when the laptop is on top, wouldn't it be very top-heavy? Especially with a bigger, heavier laptop, and such a light-weight stand.
@SlowpokeTravel Жыл бұрын
I used to have a laptop that barley fit into the braces...I had Take off the tabs and it was still a tight fit...never had a problem with it being unbalanced...CG's smaller stand wouldn't wok with my old computer

Does anyone know how much weight can these handle? I'm using a heavy laptop and I'm not sure if this will be able to handle the weght.
@SlowpokeTravel3 жыл бұрын
The Nexstand handles a pretty heavy laptop--I bet the Roost could as well, but The Roost isn't designed to handle thicker laptops, and a heavier laptop might we thicker as well...My old, clunky laptop was too heavy, thick, and bulky for traveling, but it fit into the Nexstand because the Nexstand has removable clips which allows it to support a less slim, bulkier laptop.
@clt.56224 жыл бұрын
Roost is higher in quality, it’s more stable and it won’t slide on your table. We use Roost for our Macbook Pro 15” and the Nextstand for our Macbook Airs.
@SlowpokeTravel4 жыл бұрын
I'd say the Roost is definitely a more solid-feeling piece of construction. I'm still a Nexstand guy and CG is still a Roost girl...that being said, CG bought her mom a laptop stand, and she chose to get her mom the Nexstand

We both travel with the exact same pack, an Osprey Porter 30L backpack. This is where traveling as a couple is an advantage, since CG packs all of the toiletries for both of us in her bag, while I pack all the sound and camera equipment we use. We've been using the same bags for about 4 years now and we're pretty happy with them. I'm taller than CG (5'11") and I don't think the Porter 30 is a super comfortable bag to wear for longer periods of time, but it works great for our travel style, which is moving from extended stay to extended stay.

Hey, Which keyboard you are using in this video ? It looks cool and minimal.
@SlowpokeTravel4 жыл бұрын
it's a Seenda Wireless Keyboard and Mouse...It's just under $30 right now on amazon USA...I've used it for almost 2 years now, and I'm happy with it...traveled down to Chile with it and just spent 4 1/2 months traveling around Mexico with it...I like it because it's rechargeable, so I don't have to think about batteries--and it holds a charge for a long time...my wife doesn't like the mouse because she thinks it's too slim, but that just makes it better for packing, I think
