Hard to say which is the best… my choice has always been Remo because that’s what I was first given and have played with ever since. There are many great djembe makers out there. I don’t know about the traditional djembe producers - I’m sure they are out there and with some research you can order something amazing from Africa. On the other hand, I would go to thomann.de and choose something more “main stream”.
