The lens wipe hack is a good one. Gotta try that. Maybe even keep lens wipes in my fire starter kit.

I usually hammock camp, but I did a 12 day trek last summer and had to use a tent. I got a Trekology inflatable pillow which was okay on it's own, but I needed a bit more height and wanted to counter the balloon effect a bit. I wound up wrapping it in my puffy jacket and then used a T-shirt like a pillow case and it made a pretty awesome pillow. Also, on the same trek one of our guys had a Helinox chair zero break on day 1. Fortunately I had both extra cordage and gorilla tape and I was able to Macguyver it well enough that he was able to use it for the rest of the trek. All that to say I fully support the recommendations for both extra cordage and duct tape.

Just want to let you know that painting cotton cloth (like canvas) with "Spar Urethane" will seal & waterproof it plus cloth remains flexible. Spar Urethane is clear, UV resistant, oil based and finished result if similar to old fashion waterproofing using linseed oil.

An ordinary inflatable pad is not insulating, reflective mylar requires an air gap to work, buy an emergency mylar reflective bivy and stick the air pad in it, the pad will serve as the air gap and absorb reflective radiant heat from your body.

I wouldn't wipe your phone screen with those wipes. They will cut through the oleophobic layer that is there to keep finger prints off and a smooth swiping screen. I learned this the hard way. But I do like the fire starter hack!

Putting tape on a trekking pole is a royal pain in the A@$ when you use a trekking pole tent. I use a soda straw to wrap tape around it. Don’t cut the straw until you got the tape wrapped around it. The extra soda straw length makes a good handle to hold onto when wrapping. The other tip is the importance of hot chocolate or some other hot drink. Hot drinks keep the body core warm. A double hot chocolate (2 cups) when it’s cold and raining, heats you up. It helps dry out your clothes faster. Add some butter to it. It beefs up your core temperature even more. Plus the hot chocolate hydrates you and adds calories for your recovery. After you get done with that drink, make another one. Let your body start drying out your clothes.

Is it just me or does the "next level" keep getting lower and lower? This is basic stuff dude. I learned most of these when I was in scouts (a child), but I'm not allowed to talk about that 😮
@JeremiahStringer10 ай бұрын
I just put next level in the title so it was more clickable for the algorithm. If you don’t use the algorithm on your title and thumbnail your videos won’t get pushed out to a wider audience on youtube. That means less clicks which means less sales to sponsors which means less money for me. I have a baby on the way and bills to pay lol
@jacobpoucher10 ай бұрын
@JeremiahStringer atleast you admit you use clickbait (purposefully deceiving people) to make money. If I tried that in my profession stringer I'd be in the poor house.
