I watch Daniel Cooper, who works with resin and have seen him sand down the imperfections with a very fine sandpaper, then reapply the resin. In spite of the mishap, i can feel your pain, the painting is beautiful.
@lindawood294612 күн бұрын
Hi, You can salvage the resin. Give it a light sanding with a high grit wet sandpaper then re-coat and make sure the room is a low humidity and warm then it will be fine. It's a beautiful piece.

I think your painting is beautiful, and I couldn’t really see what happened with the resin … I hated seeing you so upset , poor darling it’s ok don’t be to hard on yourself… you’ve given us all so many beautiful paintings using so many great ideas . Nobody’s perfect we all do little mistakes now and than it just means you’re human . I hope you get better soon and I hope you don’t dwell on this xo

Imperfection is what makes it UNIQUE and so beautiful ! You're being too harsh on yourself, just because the result might not be what you expected. But let me tell you that at least, to my eyes, and I'm sure not to mine only, this incredible piece of yours is just pure beauty. Cheer up and continue your marvelous work for the happyness of your followers. ;))

I watched your tutorial on my phone and can not see whatever it is that happened with your resin. Looking straight at the picture, the Holly hocks are beautiful. Once, many years ago, I covered a tray with resin, and the surface was yucky. I sanded it with fine grit paper. When I poured my new batch of resin, I mixed it thoroughly but poured without scraping the sides. It worked for me. Good luck!

I hope you feel better soon, AB. I know it didn't turn out as you were expecting, but don't be too hard on yourself. I, like so many others here, see the beauty of your work. And it is very lovely. Sometimes 'mistakes' can turn art into something even more extraordinary. I think you did a great job. Sending you a hug from across the pond.😊💜💞💜💞

I still love it! I would buy it if I could afford it. I planted some holly hocks seeds last year, and 2 of them are growing growing. I fell in love with the plant when I first saw it. I love your painting, it's very beautiful. Nature isn't perfect.

You can always sand the resin back and add another coat. Also sand with very fine grit until it is polished

You are such an inspiration! I have been watching your videos for awhile, and I have been so inspired to try some of your techniques, the results are just beautiful. I have taken a long hiatus from art, about 5 years!!! And just recently got into pour painting and have been happy with the results so far, but I always feel like it is...missing something? You have inspired me to get out of my comfort zone and I just love the way this piece turned out! Gorgeous work like always AB, I can't wait to see more from you!

There are no errors in art, just happy accidents lol. Or an accident that happened on purpose. A lot of the time we the artists are the only one who knows it was an accident. Very nice either way, love it

It can be fixed!! Fine sand paper to rub it out then apply another light layer of resin. Seen it done by many KZbin artist. And it is a beautiful painting as always.
@lindalourens573112 күн бұрын
This is beautiful. You had some silicone oil mixed into one of the colours. Did you clean the piece with alcohol wipes, before applying the resin, to get residual oil off? I've seen other artists do that and maybe that's why the resin didn't stay where it was supposed to.

Still sell it, it’s beautiful. As many have mentioned, sand down the resin, wipe off excess dust and reapply. Maybe you could have just resin the whole painting. I understand how you feel, but many may have not picked it up.

Hi AB, the temperature in your room may have caused the bloom in your resin, if it dropped. You can use UV resin to fix it, you need a high viscosity one . Let’s resin do good uv resin. A uv lamp also xThis should fix this. Thank you for you gorgeous hollyhocks. Feel better very soon. Big hugs x❤
@tyrafox204812 күн бұрын
Agree re UV resin. If possible sand a little bit off the top of the flowers and then add the UV resin, one flower at a time. It hardens super quick, so any change in room temperature overnight etc. won’t matter x

AB, it's really beautiful. I understand your disappointment. How about if you cover the tops with a finely painted on UV Resin coat and cure it as you go to each new flower. That would surely leave a lovely shine and remove the slight imperfections that have upset you so. I've seen other artists use UV resin on top of ordinary resin and it works fine. xx

Maybe try per flower to fix with a little uv resin? That way it shouldn't really run or overflow, but still give a clear and shiny surface? Lovely piece though!
@SpiceTree6876 күн бұрын
Don't know if this will help your project, but offering the idea. Sometimes I use clear nail polish to glaze over smaller resin imperfections. Test first though on something small to see if you like.

I wonder if the silicone in the pouring paint affected the resin? I'm so sorry it turned on you like that. 😢 Quite a beautiful piece of art! 🥰 It might be worth lightly sanding the resin areas, washing it, and putting a light coating over top to see if that will fix it? The sanding will help it bond better. The washing will remove any oils. You might not need more than an ounce unless you choose to do the whole piece in resin.

I cover my rock painting with resin and noticed that if I handle the painting without gloves the oil from my fingers leaves empty spaces when resin solidifies. In this case I just cover the stone again and this cures the problem. Now every time before using resin I thoroughly clean the surface with methylated spirits.

Hi AB nevermind it looks Good 👍 , I have been having fun too. I've been given some Old Paint it's a Brand that I can no longer get, I was so excited to receive it. It was a Mixed Media of Acrylics paint , Watercolour paint & Oil pastels & a pan set of paints. I've done a Drawing of a White Lion cub but it now looks awful 😞, I didn't use my White Acrylic Paint, instead I used Chinese White which I forgot was watercolour & it has Cracked the Drawing & I have added the nose & mouth hoping invane that it would look better but its horrible & I ve now done the same thing with another Drawing, but using my White paint pen that was knackered & I now have 3 that look terrible & I can't take them out of my Sketchbook as I would look obvious that I have, are well I guess that I will have to keep them too. Thank you 😊
