Yo! Great video. I hope everything is going good still. I I'm in the process of putting fans under my seat as well and I was considering doing it the way PC towers are cooled which is fans blowing inward on one side and then blowing outward on the opposite side of the tower. Have you had any experience doing it that way? Just curious. Thanks again. I really enjoy your channel.

I Have not done that, but I’ve seen people build an amp cabinet out of wood with a plexi top under their seat and put ac pair of fans on one end blowing in and a pair on the other end blowing out and kept it nice and cool.

Sounds pretty loud. I used a laptop cooling pad and it seems to help a bit, not as much keeping it from overheating but it doesnt stay in protect mode as long if it does fail, cools down faster. I think i need a battery/wiring upgrade to solve my protection mode issue ?

i wired my fan to my taramps 800.4 ground to ground fan power to amp remote wire, my amps cut off. When I wire it to the power instead of remote, fan and amps come on. but the fan constantly stays on due it being ran to the power wire. why does it not work with the remote wire?
@NextLevelCarAudio
@NextLevelCarAudio 3 жыл бұрын
The remote wire does not have enough voltage to sustain operation of the fan. Using a SPDT relay will solve that problem and will only turn on when your amp is on.

You can always tap into your AC tubing. Not sure what vehicle your driving. But i saw a guy that had a SUV with rear Vents that he tapped into and routed back to his amps that were inside a "cooler" type box to keep them chilled cold. Other than that, place the amp where there is good air circultion

@NextLevelCarAudio
@NextLevelCarAudio 4 жыл бұрын
What i did is just run an inline toggle switch on the ground wire. So you have a fused power wire going from the positive post of your battery/power source to the positive wire of the fan. then you have a negative wire comming from the negative battery post/ chassis ground ran to one side of a simple toggle switch which you can mount in the dash, then the other side of the toggle switch runs back to the negative wire on your fan. if you are familiar with SPST or SPDT relays, you can have them kick on when your amp turns on.... but wiring is way more complicated. plus i did not want my fans on all the time with music. just during long demos. hope that helped

James Baysinger I don't know if you've already set your fans up or not but you can connect the ground to ground and power wire of the fan to the remote wire. It will be set to turn on when your fans turn on. I set mine up on a 12 volt thermostat so when the amp reaches a certain temperature they will automatically turn on and once the amps cool down to a certain temperature the turn off just like a house AC. I went with quiet computer fans for a gaming computer. I have 8 total.

Even though my amp is in my trunk closed, with no airway . Will this still help the amp from overheating?
@NextLevelCarAudio
@NextLevelCarAudio 3 жыл бұрын
In that situation, you probably are not going to get the best cooling results. In-cabin you can because it will circulate the air within the cabin and cool your amps (especially if you are running your AC on or have the windows down getting fresh air). But in a sealed trunk, your blowing around hot air.

What could I used to kind of help this situation
@NextLevelCarAudio
@NextLevelCarAudio 3 жыл бұрын
Well, I know some people that run custom cooling ducts from their cars A/C to the trunk/hatch to provide cooled air to Amp. But that is a big project. Biggest thing is to make sure there is plenty of space between the amp and anything else. So the heat does not radiate to nearby surroundings making everything hotter. Biggest thing is make sure to have some airflow between the bottom of amp and mounting surface. I used thick rubber grommets to mount under the feet of the amp. You can pick them up at Home Depot for cheap. Raises the amp an extra 1/4-1/2 inch to stay cooler and provided some anti vibration dampening so your amps don’t vibrate as much with the bass.

why would you use something so loud. Use cross flow fans: they are low profile, move a lot of air and make next to no noise. Add a SMD temp fan control and set it to run in three speeds to cool as the temperature increases.
