To accept that we have only two choices in Life - Love or fear - then to realise that if Love is everything it has no opposites, is to understand that fear is always the illusion, and Love our only reality.

When I met the woman that has now been my wife for 28 years, I was an active Scientologist (16 yrs in) and she had been a student of ACIM for almost a decade. I left Scientology 14 yrs later. Three more yrs passed and an old friend of mine from Scn tracked me down (he had left Scn too) and one of the first things he asked me was if I had ever heard of A Course in Miracles. I said, yeah. Not only have I heard of it my wife is a course facilitator of a small group of course students. He was really stoked about the course but he understood my resistance to it. He knew that I had a big misunderstanding about what the course was teaching. He encouraged me to read The Disappearance of the Universe by Gary Renard and then see if I might be willing to explore the course. I read Gary's book and what I read caused a huge shift to occur in some of my basic spiritual beliefs. I was now willing and ready to take a look at the ACIM teachings and once I did, I never stopped. My life has never been the same since!

@@ebazileyes1475 Probably the most profound shift for me was in how I changed from believing the planet and its inhabitants needed to be improved and/or saved to understanding that there was nothing that needed to be fixed other than the way I was perceiving the world. If you want to familiarize yourself with the ACIM teachings I recently found a channel where various aspects of the course are discussed by long time course students. I have found these discussions to be very helpful. The name of the channel is Foundation for Inner Peace. @natasanastja
@natasanastja Жыл бұрын
you are talking about the unconditional love that Jesus talks about and that He proclaims and asks of people. However, when Jesus speaks to the Pharisees with the seven-fold "Woe to you" and in many other places salvation is conditioned: "weeping and gnashing of teeth" is mentioned. Is it unconditional? Unconditional love is not conditional. The New Testament does not speak of unconditional salvation, just like the Old Testament. We can interpret it however we like, but that's what it says in writing. Check for yourself: "Whoever calls his brother a madman will not see the kingdom of heaven" and so on. does this sound like a no-brainer?

Alex's message from Jim Carrey about everyone getting EVERYTHING they want reminded me of this quotation attributed to St. Teresa of Avila: "There are more tears shed over answered prayers than over unanswered prayers." A long time ago, ACIM was basically my path but I wasn't fully ready for it. It DID feel like Jesus talking as Emily said. ACIM is STILL on my bookshelf. May I accept the courage to reopen it.

The course can be challenging. Depending on where you are in your life's journey it can make you very uncomfortable, especially when it comes to your relationship with others. Surrendering to the teaching and really allowing yourself to change really does challenge the ego and it does not like to be challenged and so it will defend itself against the truth.

Not everyone needs to read ACIM. If it doesn’t resonate, it’s not for you at this time. At the beginning of ACIM Jesus says there are many, many curriculums, not just this one. Different people have different needs for presentation styles. I read it as the first channeled book on my spiritual journey that really provided the catalyst for my awakening. Other books I read after that have exponentially expanded my understanding of the text, corrected my misperceptions, and carried me much farther on my journey. And I find myself not resonating with ACIM as much anymore, as other teachings speak to more more strongly right now. This is completely normal. We grow and change in our understanding and things are helpful for a time and sometimes we grow past them. Also keep in mind that human consciousness changes over time and that might change how spiritual material is presented to us by the masters.

would you please be kind enough to give me the quote from Jesus and where you found it since you mention it and refer to Him in your comment. Where did Jesus say it, when, to whom and in what context. Namely, nowhere in the Gospels is there anything similar to what you claim. Jesus was clear: "Narrow and steep is the way to the kingdom and few walk on it, but broad is the road to perdition". So nothing about different roads and paths.

@@terrelljustis I may have misquoted. There is a footnote in the introduction and a few lines in the first chapter of a manual for teachers that say effectively “this course in miracles is not the only way to learn.” I thought Jesus said it at the beginning of the book but I haven’t read it in awhile. And in addition I have listened to Jeshua talking through channels saying that ACIM was intended for specific people that needed to hear the message in a specific way. People who need to hear it in a more intellectual or psychological lens might be more attracted to the book.

I respectfully point out that the course is aimed at deprogramming the mind from egoistic attitudes of being advanced , better or worse comparisoms. to others or our own illusions that we are not good eneough as we are in truth created whole already. Our programmed idea of ourselves is very tricky! So if we are created whole then so is everyone else, no separation or gradings possible. Back in the 80's I worked on forgiveness every day for 3 years. There was a brekthrough shift and I was free. Then another set of circumstances became the scenario to keep applying those course principles. A sort of upgrade of intensity. I even went on strike for some time! Go easy on yourself and be consistent.

The voice was a man voice and it said, Yeshua! (It did pronounce the letter G as in go before it said Yeshua. That g sound still baffles me today. But what is very amazing is wile I was praying I was asking God what should I have my children call Jesus because there are so many names. And at that moment that is when the voice said Yeshua! My heart dropped, I was beyond excited! I still dont know for sure who that voice was but it was real and opened a door for me. 🥰

I have been working with ACIM since the end of 2019 and find it has inspired and helped me so much on my path. I was lead to ACIM after it was brought to my attention twice. Since I was raised in Christian Science it was natural after my walk in Unity and other metaphysical thoughts. I really enjoyed the feeling that Jesus was speaking since the other ways I had followed, for me, did not have that. I read approximately the first 35 pages and then put it down since it was getting too hard to understand. I told Jesus that if He wanted me to read it He would have to come and get me. Over a period of four years that book fell off the shelf or table top and would open up. I’d laugh and start again. I read all of it and many, many other writings corresponding to it. I belonged to ACIM’s study group. And then….trauma hit my life and was so intense and lasted for over a year. I felt like God had left me. I put my studies aside. One day out of the blue I was lead to listen to a minister. I had never been in or taught basic Christianity, and from what I had seen of it I wanted nothing to do with it so this was strange indeed. Over time I learned more and more and could see that many of the metaphysical truths I had learned fit and blended with what I was learning. In summary, I have a warm and loving relationship with Jesus that I never had with ACIM, Christian Science and the many others. I’m grateful for all of them and I realize my spiritual journey is opposite to what many ACIM students travel. But for me, I will never go back. Jesus came and got me again and said “come, I have something different I want you to see.” It was a process since I was quite wary of it so He was very patient. I am so blessed. Love to you all on your journey.

I finally surrendered and pleaded to God to please show me how to process their hurtful behavior for they are too close to avoid. Then this video popped up and I had my answer. Just to add, the things said I know to be true. When I gave birth and was in more physical pain than I can even describe something in me then shifted and rather than seeing the physical forms of the nurses in the delivery room, all I could see was their Light and was the true essence of them. They each were amazingly beautiful in their own unique way!! Thank you for living a purposeful life that I’m sure has already helped countless people as it’s helped make a difference in mine ❤🙏🏻

In trying to follow the path the universe wants for me, I find myself not asking anymore for what I think I need. It can be hard to do; but I just ask for the most kindly outcome for my problem or for those of other people. I don’t fret about it. If I can provide loving support for someone in their pain of a problem, I do it. For myself, I just follow the next most logical step in my life.

Lovely interview. I’ve heard Abraham Hicks say that Source wouldn’t forgive because source wouldn’t condemn anyone in the first place. Hopefully we can raise our frequency from those lower levels of judging what others do. We shouldn’t need to forgive we should be thanking everyone for teaching us and helping make this Earth experience super exciting. Xx Sending love x Thank you

The only forgiving that is necessary is to forgive yourself for forgetting who you are. The forgiveness that the course talks about is not the worldly forgiveness of forgiving others. Source/God doesn't even know that this apparent world exists. How could something be forgiven if it doesn't exist.

Lately I have felt drawn to listening to this book again as I didn’t finish it the first time, then I saw this interview, so I will! At the same time I will continue with auto-biography of a Yogi! Thank you Alex for inspiring that! Great interview btw, it’s like I’m being guided by a higher intelligence as to which episode to watch next! Blessings Alex and Emily! 💛🌻💛

agree 100%... No book comes even close to complete the teachings of J. Do not forget J = the voice for God we call Holy Spirit - or Holy Spirit is that still voice within each and everyone, we just have to choose to want to hear it.

The ACIM taught me how to control my mind. My mind does not own me. I became FREE. The truth of Jesus was revealed. My heart and not my mind is where the wisdom is. I've been shown the way to release and let go. To trust in the universe. Leave the matrix became clear.

Course in Miracles explains or expounds scripture for me. When I started reading it, it spoke to me the way scripture did. At one point I stopped to look back because I knew that voice, which because clearer the longer The feelings that I had, had to be Jesus speaking. That was even before He identified Himself in the book.

I find that if I'm driving in traffic and someone cuts me off or honks at me for something I'm unaware that I did I just say to myself be patient that person is having a bad day. So I find that it test my patience and I realize how easy it is to just let it go and not be upset because you don't know what that person is going through. It's actually very easy to just let things go and use patience. I love your podcasts!

I have become a very big fan of your podcasts. I have been a student of the course for over 32 years. I have hoped and wanted to see this kind dialogue and course discussion. When I say I have been a student that is to say I have diligently applied the course teachings. I have lived through crisis in my life that have become my badges of success and a product of peace and happiness by applying the lessons and teachings There is a lot I would get great joy in sharing with you. I believe a few minutes in an interview would lead to many more. I invite that opportunity.

“What if what we really collect are our acts of kindness? What if what we collect is the love that we give, and those are the only things that survive [beyond this life in our “real” world experience]. Could this idea of the “treasure house” containing all the love that we generate in our lives be akin to the “akashic records”? Amazing pieces of wisdom here, I never was able interested in this book because of the length and seemingly religious premise, but you have educated me today that this is far from the truth of what it stands for. Thank you, both of you, for your work, and for helping me overcome some of my own prejudices today 🙏🏻 ❤

Jesus also channeled the CHRIST LETTERS.. He came to earth to correct the teachings of the religious people of the time. He was crucified because of them. He came to liberate the people but the control mechanisms of the time would not allow it. He is very active on earth today through many channelers to help humanity evolve spiritually. He has so much unconditional love for us .

I think one core reason also for the great misunderstanding, is that humans have a deep seated anger at God itself, not just other humans. I think ACIM speaks of this directly in the part where it talks about our need to seek vengeance against God itself.

Very interesting interview and I've been on the CIM since 1996 and as per the question 'what about a troll attacking you, what does the course say?" She tried to answer with love, the course says, 'You first see the woundedness within the other and yes they are a mirror for you, but if you've grown, you have no need to defend against the woundedness. So you remember the Truth for them until they can remember the Truth for themself. You are compassionate to the 'troll' and you allow them to vent, you don't engage in their rage, because what you defend against you need to learn. When they are done with their rage, you bless them and let them go. Helen Schucman kept dreaming of the CIM via JC and her partner William Thetford also Professor of Medical Psychology at Columbia University encouraged her to write it down and he would translate it for her. So both of them are the authors of the creation. Helen died not believing in the words of the CIM, as per Thetford.

Ken Wapnick's book called "Absense from Felicity, is all about how the Course began coming through Helen, taken mostly from her early notes and it says there was never a doubt in Helen's mind who was coming through her. It was Jesus but I heard from another channel that it was a collective of Ascended Masters which included Jesus and Budda and many others.

it really is beyond a concept it’s an experience. An experience of being in the very centre of Self and feeling all of the love shared through out the journey of time and space . In this sense the world of forgetting dissolves and we become and overflow of love - we become One ‘for giving’ Love and the world of pain , the density longer holds us .. The course is an uncompromising journey back to Source .. it’s a big journey and seemingly requires the we let go of the world , really we are opening to a world of eternal Love .

What a fantastic conversation. You both agreed when the door closes. Window opens or vice a versa. What popped in my head was the scene in the movie flight. Denzel Washington’s character was in the hotel room and the adjoining room door popped open because of another window or door closing. Interesting how the story of that character developed after that.
