Malcolm threatened him about his son after their fight on the rooftop; but he still didn't tell Felicity. He told the city that he was going to marry Felicity during the engagement party knowing that there was this huge secret between them. Sorry, but there will never be a good reason to hide your child from your future spouse. Only the people who don't know anything about marriage (or relationships between adults) can find it normal. Listening to his sister who went away because of the lies about Malcolm was the worst. It was the dumbest thing to do.
