Praise God! I am so pleasantly surprised to hear His name on this platform, how wonderful! Every time I go take a test in nursing school, I tell Him “God you made this anatomy, you know this material better than anyone alive. Impart to me that wisdom and knowledge while I take this test!” He is wonderful. Thank you for this video and all of your videos!!!!

Thanks for the video as I ramp up into year 3. I don’t disagree with the wrong answer about the overweight client, but I think it’s important to remember that there is a reason to asking about intentions of losing weight. If you aren’t trying, and you haven’t changed anything, a drastic change in weight like that could mean there is something bad going on. Not asking, and just being happy your overweight client lost weight is one of the reasons cancer in obese patients is often missed by physicians and other healthcare providers. Too many times obese patients are just seen as obese and many symptoms are overlooked because of their stature. It’s how doctors missed my Ankylosing Spondylitis for so many years. If I lost 30 lbs my back wouldn’t hurt so much. I only got a diagnosis when my iritis flared up the first time and my eye doc sent me to a specialist. ❤

I have some trust issues with my professor, so the orange juice question (17:00) made me ease up a little bit lol. She told us yesterday "You'd give the orange juice and then check the sugar. You could have someone check it at the same time, but you want to be administering that sugar immediately."

Duration 18:18 If they give us conditions like suspected (instead of diagnosed.) type 2 DM.. Again the answers would be giving orange juice or monitoring Blood Glucose Level?? Can you please answer me Professor D?
@NexusNursing2 жыл бұрын
It depends on the situation. If pt is known diabetic and showing sx of hypoglycemia give them glucose. If not known diabetic but exhibiting sx then test. Even with so this, one word can still change the entire question so it really depends on the wording. It’s not cookie- cutter, you have to think critically

Hi Professor D the question about the patient with diabetes that you said give them orange juice before checking blood sugar, our professor told us the opposite to ckeck blood sugar before giving anything as she says you dont know how low the blood sugar is, so which is which😩?
@NexusNursing2 жыл бұрын
If they are a known diabetic, insulin dependent and displaying a/sx of hypoglycemia you don’t waste time. Unless that glucometer is right there in front of you, give them something with sugar. Trust me on this😭😭😭

I RECALL SAME CONTENT ON THIS IN 2020 YOU ANSWERED IST ADPIE ASSESSMENT CHECK GLUCOSE LEVEL NOT GIVE FOOD. HERE ITS CONTRAINDICATES OPPOSITE?
@NexusNursing2 жыл бұрын
That’s why you should not try to memorize answers, you have to look at the context of the situation. Is there person a known diabetic? Are they known to be insulin resistant? That alone makes a big difference in how you answer.

17:00 so did Shelby, in Steel Magnolias die of Hypoglycemia? I understand she had a transplant (I have one too) she didn't show signs of rejection, and she collapsed. I know Sirolimous wasn't around yet... Also, rejection meds are usually steroids, so what if she was prescribed steroids that would shoot her sugar back up This movie means too much to me. I am so grateful for you and this video especially :)
