Thanks for the nice comment. The shocks are good quality for sure. I think that the bent shafts on the shocks with side bladders was caused by a bad landing, It was a skate park after all. The best place to break things. 💪

Thank you for the honest review, still worth it to try!

Indeed they are. The price is good and honestly they are good shocks. The NX-420 had no issues other than my preference for stronger springs. The NX-419 shocks just probably had some bad landings at the skate park. NEXX Racing has some great product for crawlers and now are offering these shocks for the Grom series of RC's. I plan of continuing to use the shock and get a better idea of how good or bad they are. My opinion is that they are a good shock.

Cool review RC. You can really make a difference with the fluid viscosity

I did a terrible review. The shocks are actually well made but not dummy prof. I have no idea what weight oil they put in the shocks but I turned in the screw on the bladder and moved the preload collar down quite a ways and the shocks were stiff in the rear but traveled freely full range. I will definitely continue to use the Nexx Racing NX-420 shock in the future and honestly the 419 series were easy to straighten. I just hope Nexx Racing doesn't want them back. I actually like them. If I get into mini crawlers they have some very awesome stuff. Thanks for watching. 👍

Your so kind. I actually made another video about the shocks and I am uploading it now. The shafts on small shock are actually able to be straightened and function just like new. I have never ben able to straighten any of my 1/10 scale shock and have them function very well but these were easy. I just want to get back having fun with bigger cars. The weather is so nice now. 👍

Thanks my friend. I'm going to keep running the shocks and see how they do. I guess rear end chassis slap with the Grom is better than tightening up the preload and bending shock shafts.

Oh yeah I have a set of shocks on my Kraton that are really loose and they really need tuning as well. I agree stiffer springs in the rear always improve handling but the drop test looks very promising for the skate park testing. I wonder could the fluid be low or to thin for the skate park? Oh they bent I see they probably should have had 2 set of springs included one hard and one soft.

Oh well. Nexx Racing probably won't be sending me any more stuff to review. lol I feel like I really let them down. The shocks with side bladders are fully functional and came with oil. At least one did because I only checked one. I actually wonder if chassis slap is unavoidable. I had the rear Pre-Load Collars turned down and the valve turned in on the bladders. So it could be that a hard landing on stiff suspension caused the bending. They bent towards the top of the shock shaft at the shock body.

@@RCRoadschassis slap is necessary to avoid just that happening. If the chassis didn't hit the ground your shock would break, bend, or break a mount on big hits. The arms have to much travel just so the chassis can bottom out and save the shocks. The trick is slowing that chassis down on the way and back up to prevent bouncing. A good shock keeps tires on the ground the most time.

@@boduke9428 Thanks for watching and taking the time to explain the actual function in a way even I can understand. I guess my thought was that the car was so light weight that it shouldn't slap quite so hard but even suspension setup has rules to follow. Thanks again Bo .. 👍

If your suspension is to stiff your car will be hard to handle over bumps that's way to want my suspension to soak up bumps it's more controllable 😎👍
@RCRoadsАй бұрын
Your totally correct. I was so concerned about the chassis slapping the ground so hard that I thought it would be better to stiffen up the shocks. I took it a little too far.
@richardbrown6762Ай бұрын
I don't need a stiff shock because I don't jump my cars 😮
@RCRoadsАй бұрын
I probably should stop jumping my cars so much as it's real hard on them. I should map out a track and run for lap time and see how well I can do. Maybe just a few jumps. A second driver would be much more fun. Solo driving is getting old.
