Yeah, so true mate. You can see when he was in Santos, he would showboat a lot to please the fans and not really focus on passing a shooting. In Barca, you can see he plays like a true pro..creating chances left and right..im not saying is finishing is the best but he is learning alot from the Spaniards. its a skills/showboating. thats why there wasnt a lot of final product. but neymar is actually a really effective player. i know this video makes him look like he just goofs around on the field. but he scored 31 goals and about 20 assists in 49 appearances last season which is world class level in terms of production. and he is consistently in the top 10 players in terms of dribbles completed as you can see in the video.

It's a funny reaction. But there is something you didn't understand yet. Football players usually exaggerate when they got any hit because the refferee is usually really far and do not see what is happening. Of course that sometimes, it's a fake reaction, but many times they are just trying to show what happended. All the football faults are based on "intention", and not exatcly by how strong is the crash. If a player has the intention to break the leg of the opponent but if he didn't succeed, he is going to get a red card.

Actually, the shirt 10 goes to the midfielder with playmaking characteristics but its not a rule. Here in Brazil there are many playmakers with shirt number 7, for example. Sorry for any grammatical mistake :)

Alright, so here's a breakdown of the 'traditional' team numbers by position. 1 = goalkeeper 2-5 = defenders, 2 and 5 are usually the full backs, 6-9 = midfield, numbers 7 and 9 are usually attacking midfielders or wingers, number 6 is a defensive midfielder and number 8 is usually a box to box midfielder, number , 10-11= strikers, number ten is usually the supporting striker, linking up play and assisting the other striker, the number 11 is usually the better goalscorer. This is based on the generic 4-4-2 formation, but with newer tactics it can be completely different

It's not really "diving" some of it is, some of it isn't. The majority of the falls are due to a "mecanism" that small/light players have to use, if you bump into a bigger and heavier player being a skinny one you'll be getting the wrong end of the stick. He HAS TO jump and, or let his body take the hit in a way that he absorbs less and deflect the hit in order not to get seriously hurt. About the scoring, he's a great scorer, those videos were taken from basicaly 8 years. He was, when younger, a bit too fancy skills but no endgame focus, but nowdays he's one of the world's most feared strikers. His trio with Messi and Suarez are insane, he's more a playmaker/assistence player but he's also a good finalizer too. Hope I've explained some stuff to you guys. Cheers from Brazil. :)

Most of these "Dives" in the video arent actually dives. At the speed and momentum of the play in football/soccer one tap on your knee full speed can easily put you off balance. Even body blocking someone while running into them with the ball full on is enough to take you off your feet. So yes it looks like a dive watching it on screen but remember fragile ankles and leg joints etc which are prone to high movement and intense impact can have huge consequences. Id say at least 15% of the clips in the video were dives but most of them were just pure momentum making him lose balance etc :) Love the video regardless, so glad you guys are taking interest in my main sport :D Keep it up!

Lovely video guys! I have to admit, that I don't like the term "showboating"... Ronaldinho was doing similar tricks back in his day but everyone was (and are) praising him for his grace and talend. Neymar is just like that, a crazy good footballer, and his skills are real skills - skills that are meant to achieve goals, control pass or defend the ball from the opposition. That is not showboating, that's raw talent and the reason why people pay to see football matches - is for little instants of magic like these. I don't think there is a professional footballer that has ever "showboated", cuz for every professional footballer the way that they play - is who they are, they are what they play, so you can't categorise that as showboating... And to think that Neymar has received threats and yellow cards for passing defenders using his skills just shows how corrupt some football players and or referees can be! Everytime someone calls those amazing raw skills "showboating", football bleeds... So the video is awesome just like you guys, but I completely disagree with its title (not the title of your video - the title of the video you are watching :P)

Number 9 is normally a striker, 10 is normally the creative midfielder or striker, 11 normally a wide midfielder. The whole thing is based off traditional 4-4-2 system for roles and numbers for me numbers don't really matter.
