✨I am disabled and housebound, I rely heavily on delivery drivers. I also appreciate them for the hard work they do and the amazing service they provide, without them I’d be screwed and hungry. I am so thankful to the drivers. I never understand these people that are so rude to their drivers, it’s disgusting. I have a weird address that shows my location wrong on the maps. So I give easy yet, detailed directions to actually find me in the “other instructions” part. I follow that up with texting the driver and giving them a heads up that I’m hard to find and I have directions they should read. Then I tell the. To call if they still have any trouble at all. Also, even on a fixed disability income… I ALWAYS TIP! I respect the hell out of these people, I wish everyone else did. ✨💜✨

Idk why that person would curse and be rude to a Door Dash driver that knows their address 😒 Door Dash should really block customers that act like that for at least a certain amount of time, like an adult timeout. I delivered pizzas about 25 years ago and it was scary sometimes. One place I pulled up to was huge. House, barn, pond. Late at night. I opened my door, turned to the passenger seat to get the food, turned back to the open door and was face to face with the biggest ratty ever. I said hi boss, back up please, and he did. Owners turned out to be the coolest guys lol. Turns out the dogs name was Boss. Got a 50 dollar tip that night, for not freaking out lol.

love the camera idea. I got burned recently by a liar; would I have loved to had that camera. I had to drop off 30 lbs of dog food which is very hard for me to carry. I gave it directly to a woman in her yard. She then said she didn't get the order and of course, got the dog food for free and I got a violation. This woman greeted me, spoke kindly to me, and then turned around a screwed me royally. The moral of the story is ALWAYS take a pic no matter who the heck they are. p.s. I've been with DD for almost 3 years, what the hell do I want with dog food, I have no dog. And I have never and will never steal anything from anyone.

The merchants... the customers... even doordash itself... The last week I've only been averaging $14/hr before gas, and it's quickly becoming not worth it. Doordash doesn't really care because to them drivers are a dime a dozen.

I am disabled and I live in a difficult house to find. So I have the drivers come to a commonly used cross street near my home. When they get there, I have the driver call me and I get them to my house. And they all get a big tip, no matter how long it takes to get to me. I know what happened. She has orders shipped to her house. She was ordering from a different location and forgot to change the location. I did that as a customer once and drove to meet the driver at the location she was at, which was the correct location based on where I mistakenly had kept in the app. I gave my driver an extra large cash tip for waiting on me.

I had a guy who had the food delivered to his closed work, a dentist's office. He simply insulted me. He didn't get his food. After 5 minutes of explaining it 15 times to support, support finally cancelled the order. Insulting me isn't why he didn't get his food. His food said hi to Oscar because of the wrong address and I was on my way home. I wasn't turning around when I was 1 minute from home.

@@zoomzoom5508 Go pro hero 9 and yes it does have the infrared light. They are basically all the same. A 256gb ssd gives me 8 hours of recording time, which is basically a week of recording since I only record at the physical drop off and the 5 minutes of me leaving. You can also get batteries for extremely cheap, so you basically have infinite battery and storage for the shift. I use a chest mount since I also use it on my motorcycle. They are very comfortable and you forget you have it on. I wear it over my shirt, but under my jacket so no one even notices it lol

Ok, after watching through this again, I think I can tell you what happened. The customer said they put their apartment address including the apt complex name and address in the app notes. Now, I know us delivery drivers can accidentally not pay close enough attention to the customers notes and special instructions. This seems to be what happened. However, that doesn't give the customer any right to start cussing out a driver. It looks like things got heated pretty quickly, unfortunately. Sometimes it's better to communicate by phone instead of texts, I know I've called customers numerous times and quickly cleared up a misunderstanding regarding their location, etc. It seems too many people are text only these days and steer clear of phone conversations for some odd reason.

I know exactly what happened. These stupid apps let the customers use their gps to dictate their address. Instead of typing it in manually. So obviously if the gps can't pinpoint their exact location correctly, it'll be incorrect. I always tell people, if a bird flies over your house, can it see if you're home inside? Same thing applies to the gps. It isn't always pin point accurate. And can make it seem like you're farther away. This was the customers fault 100%

Got my 1st 1star rating today. McDonalds order. Apartment buildiing. Wouldn't open the door when I knocked, wouldn't answer the phone. Left bag on welcome mat. Hid in stairwell and watched lady open door and grab bag. She reported didn't receive order and got refund. I called DD and they told me this. I said I documented entire episode and they should deactivate customer. This is theft. And, it dropped me to 4.91 from 4.95. Really sucks. What do you recommend???

I also had this happen. The app took me to a wooded area on the end of the street. I kept trying to call and text the customer with no response. I put it in my Apple Maps and it brought me right to the spot I needed to drop off. Thankfully she understood and wasn’t too upset. But I always put the address in my Apple Maps from now on when the app says I’m getting close. I know it takes a little more time but I’d rather take a little more time than something like this happen. Hello. I'm glad you made this video. I am going to buy a body camera tomorrow. In the last 3 weeks i've had two shady customers that I ended up hand delivering food to say that the food was not delivered to them. Of course, without a photo what can I really do? I've found that either the customer does not know how to pin their location accurately or errors on their surveyed location or the map itself when they put in the address vs. pinning it. I live in a condo and if I put in the address it will show up wrong on the apps so I will always pin & give drivers a heads up note and anticipate the need to walk them in. Of course many customers don't think in terms like that they just want an easy fast delivery. Also If I do have a problem I will try to call them vs. texting. When there are problems many customers can be communicated with better that way. Of course if they don't answer I'll then text but while texting is easier for simple issues when there is a problem often voice can be better and faster. Especially when dealing with older folks. BTW in terms of bodycams I've seen the Pen style cameras on Amazon. Cheap, but might be worth reviewing.

There’s a small curve at my street and drivers always get confused and I’ve seen some pull in front of my house and drive off. Last order was delivered to my neighbors house. I never get mad and always rate good. I just figure my place must be confusing because it’s like every delivery service.

I've had similar situations with the navigation. The customer put in the right address but the app took me to the wrong spot. I always screen shot the map just in case, and call the customer to let them know whats going on. I had one customer where it was "hand it to me" and when i got there, the app was telling me i was in the wrong area for delivery. My customer was like "But your not! Thats crazy!" I apologized. I ended up marking "customer told me to deliver here" just so I could move on. 😅

There is a specific area in my market where the GPS literally ALWAYS takes you at least 10 minutes away from where you actually need to go. Not even exaggerating, every single time, the customer had to call to walk me through where to go and or text me specific directions with photos of the building they are in. Even the customers I delivered to verify that the GPS did the same thing when they were trying to find whatever location they are at. Regarding it they are in a hotel room, their own house etc.I was so annoyed I called Door Dash to ask if I could stop getting orders sent to me that had to be delivered there. I was newer to the area so I had no idea what areas where located in this nightmare area. They have since added where you can uncheck spots you don't want to go and I'd love to think that me calling them nonstop about this nightmare area was a part of this wonderful app addition lol And I too had a nightmare order that involved ice cream, I kept my car as cold as it would go so hopefully it wasn't too melted. It was a nightmare because the persons address was not in any GPS. And the original GPS directions took me about 30 minutes in the opposite direction. It took me North when I needed to go South East. That order took me well over an hour to complete and the person pretended they understood and felt bad that the order was such a nightmare. But then they lied and said they were going to give me an extra cash tip to make up for all my gas, time, etc. it took to get there. This order literally drained my gas tank and I couldn't dash any more to else I wouldn't have had enough gas to make it home. And that's the condensed version of the story. It must be something about people who order ice cream.

I've had UE navigation take me to the wrong spot many times but the customers have always been helpful in directing me to them. Well, except for one snippy college student who wasn't aware that the access point down the road from her dorm was closed because apparently she's never looked to her left. I had to find my way to her without her help because she was just incapable of giving me directions. I have been interested in getting a body cam so these reviews you're doing are very helpful.

I have had similar experiences delivering food and Spark orders. It helps to put in the name of the apartment complex in your Google Maps search instead of the address. It's funny when people order ice cream, etc. and don't expect it to be half way melted when it arrives, especially in humid climates. Brainless idiots.

I was at Chick-fil-A the other day picking up an order and another female dasher came in alongside me - this girl was tiny tiny. I mean she was about 4’10-4’11 and pregnant! Like 7 months pregnant. I was just thinking how vulnerable she is all by herself. I hope she has some means to protect herself. I’m a pretty small woman myself, and some drop offs you get a little nervous if it’s in a desolate area. I bought a GoPro knock off for my dash to record me and it’s ok expect the audio is trash. I bought an external microphone to help

I had the same issue once. My GPS took me to a specific place where was not the customer’s building. I called the customer and tried to explain what was happening and asked if he could meet me outside inside the complex and he said no.😂

Ok, call support. Tell them you can't find the address, you reached the customer, they refuse to assist, have support cancel the order, keep the food or toss it out the window.

google maps is a mess, frequently sends people to wrong address, then offers to 'fix' it for subscription fee. complain about it and it "magically" clears up. been dealing with this with first-time clients coming to my office for over 5 years.

I’ve had that similar problem with DoorDash and with drivers going to the wrong address. I didn’t freak out on the driver for doing that. I simply contacted DoorDash support and told them, hey look, you are pinpointing the wrong address and DoorDash corrected it.

Some times when I order a lyft, it puts the curser in the wrong spot on the map when I clearly typed the address correctly. I then have to manually move the curser the right spot on the map. Nobodies fault but the computer server.

Something kind of like this happened to me. I was gonna buy a toy airport for my nephew. The GPS refused to cooperate with me. At one point I pulled over and started asking people if they knew where Roosevelt Street was, but they said no. While I was parked and ready to turn on the car, the lady messaged me and asked "ETA?". I didn't know because I had no idea where I was. I kept driving trying to figure everything out without my GPS working and I asked Starbucks employees, Starbucks customers, and no one knew. I went back into my car and I got a message from the super nice, super sweet lady (🙄) saying, "You haven't responded in 10 minutes to my messages. I am going to leave the chat now". And she blocked me. She was waiting in the comfort of her own home. I would have been more understanding if she had been waiting for me at the Target store or something and I had been taking a while to arrive.

Hey Lady , sorry to hear of the problems with this woman . The Fla. heat does things to people as such . Reminds me of having to deal with " step siblings " and caused me to wonder if I would deliver to them . The body cam does well for the price involved . I don't see the verbal aspect of it as being a deal changer . Correct moves should be capable during editing . I'll let you go . Stay safe .

I deal with this stuff all the time but I'm also in a very small town not many drivers or orders and I always work harder to get the order to the correct address even if it means I miss out on another order. Customer service is key. My biggest problem is people not answering the phone when there is either something out at the restaurant or I'm not 100% sure I'm at the correct place of delivery. I just need a couple seconds of your time to make sure you get what you paid for. That's what I'm here for.

It’s a scam. She’s further away and she doesn’t wanna have to pay more for the delivery. You’re not supposed to deliver it to anywhere but the actual delivery address. I would just tell support it’s not the correct address and go about my day.

My biggest complaint is that sooo many people don't have visible addresses. Also, in apartment complexes, they will give the address but not the name. Many complexes have the name but not the address on their sign. GPS is just crap most of the time.

As a customer I think it's a great idea. I don't know if it's just my here or everywhere but every single order I get delivered through DoorDash shows up missing items. We get probably 2 deliveries per week and I honestly can't remember the last time the order showed up with everything we paid for. We get no help in such situations because DoorDash says to talk to the restaurant and the restaurant says to talk to DoorDash. I'm starting to believe the restaurants in my area just don't care much since they don't have to be accountable anymore. A cam for the delivery driver would help show it's the restaurants that are stealing our money... or vice versa.

As a DD driver I think restaurant workers hate online orders. So they really don’t put much effort into them being correct because they one aren’t making a tip and two prioritize in person patrons over to go orders. Which I get but hate as a driver..

I don’t really think a can can help you, the driver is just handed a sealed bag they’re not to open. The restaurants cannot refund items on their end so if an item is just out of stock they’re supposed to tell the driver to see if the customer wants a comparable replacement. I need to ask though, if it’s that much of a problem why don’t you go get it yourself ?

And the patrons standing in front of your face should always take priority over a to go order that’s for a customer/driver that’s not even there yet

I hate when they change the address right in the middle of delivering their order to the address the app has they will texts me and asked me to to deliver to another address their at im a nice person or dumb but i do it.But was told im not supposed but I've had doordash customer service asked me to pay for orders and if i could deliver to the address they are at ugh 😩 more gas and im paying for gas putting miles on my car and im dashing with no air conditioner another problem

Aww, google maps has my place really confusing for some who have never delivered to me before. It Actually shows a Drive behind my Unit that is no where land. can't get to me from that drive. They need to turn into an Apartment complex then make a hard right right away and we are a complex of maybe 15 units but Separate from the one they need to turn into to get to me. It's very confusing for some. I'll even sit and flash my porch light off n on and they still don't get it and they'll park 75 yards away when they could pull up to my door

Just leave it wherever the map takes you. Screenshot the map and make sure to save a pic of the drop off. Not worth wasting time talking to support. Customers who put in the wrong address, that’s their problem, not mine.

I mean this with love... if you need a body camera to deliver food. You do NOT need to be delivering food! I encourage every door dash or uber eats driver ect to find some other line of work if possible. These companies don't care about your safety, they don't pay you the money you deserve. They need YOU not the other way around. I know people make a living off of doing this line of work, but 😢 if at all you can find something else, please do. I hate that these companies profit off off people doing all this foot work, meanwhile not paying them! Its disgusting and a big reason why I no longer use these delivering apps. Sorry you all have to even be put in a position where a body cam is necessary! 💜💜💜💜

Door Dash and Uber does NOT protect its drivers, whether that's from physical harm or false claims, ect! On top of that, they don't pay drivers fairly! You did what you had to do, my point is that you should NOT have to. I

This happened to me the other day I called the customer and they directed me towards the right address and I specifically told them and showed them how to change their pin. And what I mean by pin is there's a location pin in the doordash app that can be changed and all you have to do is move the location pin to the closest road which is in front of their address and they need to set the location pin to the closest street in front of their address And that's all that has to be done customers and drivers need to learn how to do this if they don't already know how It's easy And less stressful in the end once everybody knows. So even if that means physically showing the customer how to do that then so be it!!!!.

I work in Australia and the maps have often taken me to the wrong location and it's really fkn annoying. When ppl are waiting for their food and watching you drive to the wrong location they tend to blame the delivery driver. Meanwhile support takes forever and communicating when driving is generally not easy. Over all it's very easy for misunderstandings to happen. The companies need to do better about updating their maps and it's a nightmare to get support for Uber eats here. You are right about cams. I am looking into getting one as I had a rude customer once and I felt so exposed and unsafe. I delivered his food as the first of 3 orders, within 8 mins of the pick up even though he lived 12 mins away, his address was off a round about where you can't legally park so I parked 2 houses down and walked to him and he didn't respond when I said hello or asked if it was his order, he just stared at me (imagine walking at night and having a creepy giant dude just looking at you and not saying a word) then when I got close he lunged over the fence and snatched the bag off me and yelled at me for not knowing where his house was. I explained that I knew exactly where his house was but as he lives off a round about on the corner there is nowhere to park so I parked 2 houses down. Who gets upset over that anyway? Clearly this man was just in a bad mood but We really have no safety doing this job. We aren't allowed to carry most of those items you mentioned down here, really no self defense here without getting into trouble yourself. I do however carry a key knife (it looks like a key but it flips open into a small pocket knife)

I use my phone camera for hand it to me orders, I make sure the phone camera is not pointed at customers face but it records what happened just in case if they say never received the order. I delete those clips after 72 hours. Recording in private areas without people consent is illegal and can get you in trouble.

I delivered pizzas (way) back in the day. This was before cell phones. Once you do it for a bit you get really familiar with the area. Occasionally I had to stop and call the customer from a pay phone because it was the wrong address. Some people thought they could get free pizzas if they were confusing or misleading in the address. Those people were marked as pickup only for future orders.

this is why I always make sure my delivery is left at the front door and tip 5-10 $ before hand on the app. dont wanna deal with any social interaction that leads to random drama.
