Nezuko's first word (Ohayo/morning) was so special. I mean our guy Tanjiro is fighting best he can to reverse her condition for something like months now. And Nezuko never spoke a word since her transformation nor did she see the light of the sun. And suddenly she can stand in the sunrise with her beloved brother and welcome him like before...It was perfect.

If Tanjiro hadn't shielded her I doubt she would've survived. I imagine that him doing so even if it was for a short time, it gave her blood enough time to adapt. That's what I like to believe. Especially since she had been rapidly adapting to her situation since the beginning.

Minor Spoilers: So there is a spiritual reason why she conquered sunlight and a physical reason why. Their family is blessed by Hinokami (Fire god) and their mother use to make blue spider lily tea for them on a regular bases. Yes....The thing Muzan was looking for grew on that mountain. If he only asked questions before he killed Tanjiro's family, he would have probably known where to get it.
