She's back! Yea! I think you nailed it. I think each scene represents how the mainstream and hip hop community respond to NF. At first nobodies around. He's dreaming of this. Humble beginnings. Then he pops on the scene but the little girl won't give him a high5, so he hi-5's himself. Everybody is like who is this guy. Then he breaks onto the scene and the critics crush him. But he says he is far from brittle, he is unbreakable which is a reference to the movie where Bruce Willis is Unbreakable and he battles Brittle. But NF does the impossible, he succeeds! Then they become incredulous, like the food scene. The rap scene becomes petrified and threatens him with a butter knife (that is because their threats are meaningless to NF. He doesn't give a shit about them and of course Hollywood). He crashes the scene and takes what he wants, does what he wants and it burns down the house. Then he shows he is above them, and he is not going to change. No Hollywood. Finally he is in his own lane, going against the flow, and the other rappers are crashing all around him. This whole video is "tongue-in-cheek" and goes along with the visuals and the lyrics. He leaves a wreck behind him. He is a disruptive force. He says his ideas are astronomical, but he really doesn't take himself that seriously. Although he takes his work very seriously. And I definitely see a reference to Intro 1". He is doing the impossible. Actually I think this bars "No weight to his name" and "one-trick-pony" are a reference to the quote from the Rolling Stone article that dissed The Search album. This whole song is summed up in the last verse and then everything makes sense. He is explaining that he is different, he is moving up, he will not change, he drives in his own lane, he goes against the flow, you better get out of his way. Interesting, I think a lot of this song ties into Intro.

Pretty sure we’re on the same page with that last scene with him walking into on coming traffic. As you know, Nate has always been about having “his own lane”. I interpret that last part as him saying, “Look, I know where my lane is and y’all can hate all you want, you can try to change me all you want. But I’m gonna go against the grain of the industry, I’m gonna do me and I’m cause havoc every time I drop a track”.

I think I figured out the apple. He’s holding the apple as he’s falling from tree into the grocery stand. If you look, where his hand holding the apple touches is a whole shelf of apples. I think it’s just a deep matrix transition . He is doing unlikely things in odd situations. In other words, he is unbelievable. He messes up the norm. I think overall this song paints a picture about he dropped this mixtape. Not his thing. Not the norm. He’s got too much good stuff prepped. But he also proves he’s not ever gonna go Hollywood. He’s never gonna fit the mold. Also if you play the beginning backwards he says “heads in the clouds”Reference to Outcast when he says “my heads in the clouds, I kinda like it up here I am not coming down. “. The abrupt transitions are a bit like a superhero movie. Its like he's got these powers and has no control of them and there is always the consequences of the mischief and it just follows him, then by the end of the vid he figures it out and starts to intentionally use it. Like he's accepted the mischief and chaos. Embracing it instead of trying to hide from it. *Using* it. I also think the apple is a metaphor for making better decisions for his own health, especially after spitting lines about his troubles with doing exactly that in other tracks. You mentioned reality, and this is my first vid of yours I've seen so maybe you know this already, but I'm almost certain that his other vids, in particular the ones where he's carting around balloons (and the cart) are all in his mind, they're just other rooms in The Mansion. The black desert of "The Search," the rundown theme park of "Leave Me Alone," the abandoned building of "Why;" they're all in his mind. Even Outcast is his mental fortress/cage that he put himself in. This is him interacting with the real world. Evolving indeed. And yea, he's talking crap about how jacked up the music industry is. All the other artists with the T & A, stacks of cash, fancy cars, codeine; he's calling them out on it. He doesn't need it or want it, he just needs his Therapy Session and his fans that aren't snakes in the grass.

If you remember that Nate put out "Paid My Dues" after the Rolling Stone diss that called him a one trick pony, he is calling them out in the refrigerator scene and puts out this song that is totally different than any of his other songs. (If the Rolling Stone listened to even one of Nates albums, they would have seen he is diverse in music styles.)

No, you're overthinking it imo of course. He put his hand up to get a high five from the kid in the cart, but the kid doesn't react, so he high fives himself. Most of this song is him reacting to the critics on the net, the trolls you hate along with the rap industry. I've always seen it as the other spitters in the game are down here on earth, he's up in the clouds and this video is him taking a minute to walk around in the mayhem with everyone else. The scene at the end is punch-lined with, "Stick to my guns, I don't even flinch/can push all you want, I don't move an inch". I like that you try to interpret what they're doing though.
