If you remember at the end of Mansion, he said fear moved in and got comfortable. This song is him battling with Fear and finally burying him. He finally opens the door to the Mansion and they go outside, and he buries Fear in the back of his mind. He realizes now he's not controlled anymore by Fear. He kills tracks by burying them and putting his issues in them. Fear used to help him do it, but this time Nate threw him in. If you remember in the Intro 2 video you saw them digging in the backyard of the Mansion. You guys were on the right track. This one takes a pretty good understanding of his past songs, so fully wrapping your head around it takes multiple listens. Very few reactors fully get it from the first listen. Also Jonny is his mom's boyfriend that beat him in the basement. That's where Anger lives, and he doesn't want to bury him yet, because he'll need it for future songs. This is one of those tracks that only NF could write. It's straight brilliance 👍

NF started as a christian rapper, but started to move towards a more general audience as he got bigger. The christian community was not a fan of the fact that he went more towards general appeal as opposed to strictly religious appeal, and that's normally where the hate he talks about getting comes from. So, he's not exactly embraced by the christian community, or the hip hop community, as he doesn't exactly fit in either genre. He also hates fame, so he doesn't do interviews much if at all, and rarely posts on social media or does appearances. He also never does features. He is just truly a loner, an outcast in this game. He doesn't belong to any of the groups that he should.

I don't know if I would paint with that broad of a brush. Yeah, he did shift to a less overt Christian message in his songs, but I don't know if the Christian community abandoned him. To be sure, I'm sure there were some, but his haters come from a bunch of different flavors and backgrounds. A huge segment of his following today is Christians who love his Real message. It's definitley true that he could do without the fame. I love the imagery in Leave Me Alone...fame calls and Nate gives him a song called "Leave Me Alone". LOL!

NF does have a few songs that he has features, such as “Grindin’” & “Epiphany” & then the songs that have a feature of a female vocalist such as “mansion”, “can you hold me?”, & “the only”. So to say he Never does features isn’t fully true.

@@I_Stay_4_SKZ I'm not saying he has never had a feature. I'm saying, considering most rappers have 7 or 8 features per album, not too mention feature themselves on others' albums, he doesn't do features compared to that. Only was more of a sample then a feature, considering all he did was take a hook from a different song and change the hook's tone a bit. Other then that, he hasn't been featured or had a feature on a song with him in 3 years. Compared to almost every other artist that's getting 50M+ views on their new songs, he does not do features.

@@joelharris363 If you listen to his Therapy Session album, all of the hate he describes is from previous christian listeners and followers that were upset about the fact that he branched out to a broader audience, instead of staying on his christian label. If you'll notice, it was around this time that NF stopped getting invited to christian awards shows, and his songs were no longer placed on christian song charts or up for christian awards anymore. He was consistently recognized and regarded highly in the christian community before Therapy Session, and once therapy session was made, he was never featured on a christian chart again.

@@blayzinin5724 I don't know what to say other than you're making assumptions based on loose correlations. Correlation does not equal causation. I'm sure there were people in the Christian community that didn't like the direction he was taking. You're just wrong, though, if you're saying that the Christian community (both inside and outside the industry) turned their backs on him. TS hit #1 on Christian charts and many of his songs on the Perception album did as well. Even if this were the case (debatable), a significant portion of his audience to this day would identify themselves as a part of the Christian community (not debatable). Like I said, I think it's too broad of a brush to say that the Christian community was largely at odds with him. I've seen a lot more controversy surrounding artists like Lauren Daigle than I have with NF.

.. Are you scared of me? "(synonymous with fear) in the song noticed a dialogue between the two, which later becomes a" fight "and nate takes control. The shovel he talks about is exactly the one that appears in intro2 .When he says "we go back to where you lower created" he talks about the part of mansion: "you used to put me in the corner, so you could see the fear in my eyes then took me downstairs and beat me..." and then he talks about jonny which is not yet confirmed by nf, but we interpreted as being his stepfather who beat him, because he says he wrote a song without "fear" because it was fear that was born through the actions of the stepfather. In other words, he no longer needs fear to make the music because he is no longer afraid of his stepfather, what's left is "the anger" he needs to make that song, but he says "he still live in the basement" referring not only to the anger but the music he made for his stepfather because in mansion he says this: "Congratulations, you'll always have a room in my mind But I'm a keep the door shut and lock the lyrics inside" referring to the stepfather responsible for this memory but he says he will keep this room closed with the lyrics inside, which I interpret to be the basement and the lyrics he says would be the music made for jonny the supposed name of the stepfather. And that's my interpretation.

I’d advise for everyone to revisit “Mansion” right before listening to “Intro lll” to fully understand what’s going on. The dialogue is between Nate’s Fear from the beginning of this song to about halfway through with just a couple times that Nate speaks up until Nate finally snapped & decided to stand up to his (literally) biggest Fear (facing Fear is/was his biggest fear). His first 3 albums each had an Intro to them, so none of them are on the same album. 1st Album titled Mansion - Intro 2nd Album titled Therapy Session- Intro ll 3rd Album titled Perception- Intro lll Album 4 titled The Search did not have an Into, but started off with the song “The Search” beginning of a new chapter of his life/career, since on his 3rd album he ended the whole album with the only Outro song & declares “IM HOME” then the next album he dropped was The Search. Did Anyone give you a list of song to go through to be on the NF Journey? Bc I noticed you did all the Intros instead of doing each Intro followed by the songs on the albums. That would definitely help you make waaayyy more sense of everything he has to say because he literally intertwines a new song with multiple older songs. It won’t make sense unless you go through certain songs from the 1st Album up to the 4th album

Bingo! You nailed it! Great reaction, and great commentary! Nate has said EM was his biggest influence. There both from Michigan. His momma bought him 8Mile when he was a youngster. BTW Nate describes himself as a rapper, and is a Christian. But not a Christian rapper.

Also note that Nate is a Rapper who is a Christian, not a “Christian Rapper”. He started out in the “Christian Rapper” community but didn’t fully fit in as he doesn’t make all his songs about his faith even though he does mention it in a few songs but even those songs wouldn’t be considered fully a Christian Rap Song. May be “Oh Lord” would be...? It’s a wonderful song & I love it! But Nate himself has said in interviews that he’s not a Christian Rapper but just a Rapper who’s a Christian. Your Faith doesn’t make your career a Christian Career.

It's so interesting. i'm a Christian and I work in the psychology field. I would describe myself as an existentialist. I'm sure we would have some really good conversations on religion and faith.
