I guess stats gets the NFL hall of fame, this doesn't? 2× Super Bowl champion (XV, XVIII); Super Bowl MVP (XV); NFL Comeback Player of the Year (1980); 8-2 record in the playoffs in his career - Jim Plunkett. Then Explain Joe Namath, 2-1 in the playoffs in his career, 1 SB MVP same as Plunkett. Jim is greater than Namath....Joe shot off his mouth and guaranteed and AFL win over the powerful NFL (I get it), but come one his record and stats are trash.......Joe, QBrec 62-63-4 Cmp% 50.1 Yds 27663 Y/A 7.4 TD 173 Int 220 Jim, QBrec 72-72-0 Cmp% 52.5 Yds 25882 Y/A 7.0 TD 164 Int 198. As long as Namath is there, Jim needs to be also.

Neither Namath or Plunkett are HOF material. You’re exactly right about Namath and the argument you made for Plunkett isn’t remotely close HOF worthy.

Wining shouldn't be a criteria for the hall of fame? Must be a stat lover like the NFL committee. Fine Plunkett doesn't have the stats for the hall, ask Fouts and Marino if they would give up the Hall for a Super Bowl. Like I said as long as Namath is in the Hall Plunkett needs to be also. You can't say Plunkett don't deserve it if Namath is in there. You might think Namath doesn't deserve it either, but he's there so Plunkett needs to be also. @@thefrase7884
