Everybody loves a good hit, but there is a difference between players lowering their shoulder for a big hit and players who can give almost just as hard of a hit when wrapping up. 75% of targeting calls would be avoided if they played football rather than playing a game of "who has bigger nuts".

All within a second or two of real time. It was a perfectly choreographed and executed take down, and they probably just came up with it on the fly and basically trusted each other to know what to do. Again, within one or two seconds. Also, 6:16 - Damien Wilson, a 260-pound linebacker, tackled Justin Herbert (admittedly, a rather large human being himself at 6'6" and 235+ pounds) at full speed and pretty much only hurt himself. Justin Herbert on the other hand, despite taking pretty much the same hard hit, popped right back up and jogged right on back to the line of scrimmage. Yikes.

“Defenseless receiver rule” has made this sport unwatchable. It’s pretty apparent when someone is malicious and targeting with their helmet. But it seems the refs are influenced by the reaction of the crowd. Regardless if a safety was simply doing their job and trying to prevent a reception. The NFL also removed the excitement of the kickoff... it’s just an extra commercial break to bring the ball to the 25 yard line.

@@bartfoster1311 I'm so tired of comments like this. Mike Webster, center, died at 50 because of his continued hits to the head. The guy taking the snap from him is in his 70s and still healthy and working. And THAT is the position they protect! The lineman are still getting the crap knocked out of them on every play. These rules have NOTHING to do with protecting players! They have everything to do with giving the offense every opportunity to score! Because touchdowns equals money in nfl executives pockets!

Used to love watching football. I quit watching. Everything the defense does is a penalty. It's your qb's fault for putting you in that position to take that shot. You want the yardage you pay the price. You know the risk when you play the sport. You want basketball rules go play basketball. You want the ufc to only do body shots, no punches to the head?
