If a receiver has the time to lower their head, then the helmet to helmet contact MUST be ruled incidental. If they've got the time to lower their head then they AREN'T DEFENSELESS.

@@sillyrascal3382 I think it's fine to make it safer in terms of cleaning up dirty hits, but I also think it's absurd to make it safer in general when in reality football is a collision sport. People sign up for it knowing they probably won't be able to walk at age 50; this sport, by nature, is dangerous, therefore unsafe. It's redundant to try and make a dangerous sport safe. It's like trying to put a speed limit on a raceway because speed is dangerous... and ignoring that speed is a core part of racing and racers sign up for the sport knowing that one wrong turn of the wheel will kill them. Jackson is a hard hitter, and even by _today's_ rules his hit last week and the one in Vegas were legal, but the refs saw a hit that looked too hard and flagged it, didn't care if it was legal, and ejected him in the case of the Packers game, _then gave him a four-game suspension._ Hard hits are dead.

I'm learning American football and I'm confused on many points. So, if a receiver is about to catch a pass you need to get out of the way let him catch it and then let him make a football move then you can hit him. But do not let your helmet touch his is s that correct?

The rule is supposed to be both ways helmet to helmet but it's most if not all on defense only being punished. For defenseless receiver I'm not 100% sure

These coaches are kind of putting their players in jeopardy with the plays they are running or the defense is to fast to catch up to a quick throw they’re already watching the receivers and then the player catches the ball and they’re already getting hit by the defenders. I think it maybe time to call an audible just to save a players man coverage or catch them off guard by flipping the play to the other sides foos

In 2006 when I joined High School football, the coach told us that this is 110% full contact football no matter what, do anything you can to take them down. Years later, 2023 NFL still cannot recognize what is legal and what is not. This is 100% a full contact sport, you are going to get hit. We dont know their intentions of why they lower their shoulders or helmets. Cant take down a big mofo while running at them body upright and a little push sometimes. With that said, theres always a divide between the rules of the NFL, or football in general. Jackson should not have been ejected for that hit. A penalty at most but not an ejection.

It's cringey when cornerbacks get hyped for tackling someone immediately after a catch when the receiver has no chance to even make any moves. Cornerback are the worst at tackling you see so many lowering their shoulder and head and just throwing their weight around at full speed or they go for the ankle tackles or sometimes they just try to rip the ball out. Beckham should have been called for that lowering the helmet because that's gonna get everyone hurt. Also the guy tackling him was surprisingly in good form has his head up so he knew where to aim, arms spread and center of gravity low.

Unnecessary roughness/defenseless WR is such a bullshit penalty. DBs are just suppose to let the WR catch the ball? WR is going to have to pick between a catch or his body; and I would be making that hit every time the WR choose the catch. Tired of this soft society we have become and it has trickled down into sports (a sport that has hitting/tackling...).
