No, there's not a rule about having to find the ball. ...but there is a rule that you can't impede the receiver prior to the arrival of the ball. The defender is not allowed to significantly hinder the receiver's ability to catch the ball. Smashing your whole body helmet first into the chest prior to the ball arriving. It's not good defense. It's shitty defense. It's making up for being burned by the receiver. He got torched. A bad throw does not turn bad defense into good defense, it makes the defender lucky.

The fact people can watch reffing like this and not think the NFL is rigged still astonishes me.
@xmikejohnson914x9 ай бұрын
I don’t necessarily think it’s rigged. I think the NFL is going with the NBA’s approach of having refs control the game. And ppl who cheer for dysfunctional franchises think things are rigged or scripted like the WWE but bad reffing is nothing new to the NFL or College Football. People act like this happened yesterday

@@xmikejohnson914x The NBA huh? You do remember that NBA refs were caught fixing games, right? 🤣
@notorioustori9 ай бұрын
@@xmikejohnson914xthe fact that bad reffing is part of the legacy of the NFL like it's a nothingburger is what's sad. Year after year these calls affect how an entire season goes. Every time they fix one aspect of it, the refs find a different way to screw up calls. Even when they implemented instant replay, outcomes are still headscratchers. If a player tackles wrong during an insignificant play, he has a fine waiting for him the next week. Meanwhile, refs can apologize 2 yrs later for making a call that bounces a team out of the playoffs and it's water under the bridge. It makes most people wonder why so much incompetence is rewarded if not for the desired outcome of the game. Plus Vegas has both arms elbow deep in sports betting & Vegas wasn't built to lose money. So, I can see why people believe it's rigged/fixed/scripted.

A way to punish the NFL for bad calls is to have fans yell curses during the game. The FCC fines the network when any swearing is done. Its is part of the code of conduct that they sign to allow broadcasting their games on tv.

How is it controversial to call holding in the Super Bowl when the pass is overthrown but it’s controversial not to call holding for the same thing?

5:51 I personally think its a great call, you cant set a screen or pick on either team I.E using your body to block it was drawn up by the OC for sure on the broncos because 80% of the time they wont call it but it is a good call, and a very well designed play call that involves that pick but it is technically illegal

As a Steelers fan the hit they called roughing against the Raiders would be called any game. Helmet to helmet against a QB is usually a penalty

These BS calls for unnecessary roughness are the reason why I don’t even care to watch football anymore. Anytime there is a hit that makes you want to see a replay, there is no doubt that a flag will be thrown. It has ruined the game. As well as many PI calls for BS then grievous PI goes uncalled.

No one is talking about the possibility that the refs thought that Cooper was out of bounds because the other player was out of bounds and maybe touched him. I still don't think it happened, but it's better than any other explanation.
