There is no such thing as "accidental shirt grab" ... you can't block people by grabbing anything at all, so any grab is not "accidental". Hands have to stay open all the time when blocking. Any grabbing is illegal.

I've seen plays get called back because some guy on the left side of the field nowhere near the qb or anyone who touched the ball, grabbed a defenders shirt, guy could've been a receiver just swatting and hooked his fingers on a defenders shirt for half a second. I'm not even saying don't call it. But why not, if it doesn't impact the play in anyway, call it differently? It's the only sport that can do that for almost all penalties but doesn't. Why is a non impact infraction a complete do over and not simply on the spot of the down? If someone off the play holds a defender. Have it take effect where the ball is downed.
