My old high school in Monterey county south of Marin county had a 8 man team and my freshman year I was on our first 11 man team playing varsity. My senior year we won our first game ever playing 11 man. It was cool to be part of school history twice.

I used to drive by here almost everyday at one of my old jobs. I even still cruise through there on my motorcycle every now and then. My sister had a basketball game against tomales when we attended Montgomery High school here in Santa Rosa and that was the only time I've ever been in that gym. It's great to see that they're featured in a video!

Played 8 man in HS, and we played Tomales in our league. They’ve always had tough boys in the trenches. And always been a respectable opponent

Marin county also has another very valuable crop grown in large numbers....... Beautiful part of the state. Also, how dare those teachers let those kids debate who the best NFL team is, while sitting in 9er country.

Us Idahoans had to play every snap. All three sides of the ball. Leighton made it too the league too.

Hey, the county I grew up in my teen years through the 1980s. I went to Point Reyes just a few times for oysters but don’t venture to that area much. I’ve been to Bodega Bay and Dillon Beach areas more the last few years lately for crabbing and the drive can be two hours long due to traffics. There aren’t much to do in Marin county though.

I understand doing this if there isn't enough students to field a team, year after year but make the field a 100 yards long. I understand making the field skinnier bc of spacing issues but keep the length the same...

I've never heard of 8 man football 😭😭😭 so I have a serious question, if you played this in high school, you still able to get a scholarship for football for it? Would it be hard for you to transition to traditional 11 man full size field? This is cool I love it but I was just curious about that
@BMontgomeryIVКүн бұрын
Athletic attributes are what scouts would look for, football IQ can be taught unlike speed and size. I've seen 9 man players transition to the Division 1 level.

You got guys in the nfl thats never even played organized football like jordan mailata coming from austrailia/nz so im sure an 8man star could make the jump

I played against Rashaan Salaam in HS 8-man football in San Diego where we went to different private schools. He went to UC Boulder and won the Heisman in '94. I recall hearing our coaches talking about some of the first arena football teams coming around, asking for copies of our playbooks!

I think it’s harder to convince coaches at the next level but it still happens.

@@bryeephe’s also one of the biggest players in the league and had a rugby background. But the 8-man dudes don’t have as big a stage but if you can play, they’ll find you for sure

80 yards? Easier he says?? Great men take the easy route. Was this nation built on easiness?? Live is tough, its a damns struggle. We're teaching these younger generations life is easy and you have to worry about not offending anyone. Ever notice how things have been going downhill since all this started? I predict in 10 years there wont be any football, it'll be to dangerous. Either that or they'll be on the field in full body Nerf suits.,
