With the athletes health in mind, due to head and neck injuries, the NFL should ban the big hit and only allow tackles with open arms; and also prohibit the attacking player from throwing his body at the defender's, but only in empty space. Just like it always was in rugby. I know that fans will not like it, but it is very easy to celebrate unnecessary aggressiveness when it is not your health that is threatened. Not to mention that this move it's not efficient, as most of the time professional players do not fumble the ball. In high school, with young players, this play is already prohibited precisely because of the risk. Take the sack as reference: it is already that type of tackle, to protect the QB. And because QBs are usually not very athletic, they do not throw their bodies at defenders. It should be like that with everyone! QB should not be the only one with protected health, while others are disposable just because people want blood. One more thing: As much as anyone i find it really fun to watch players like Derrick Henry, but i need to say this: i don't like the stiff-arm on the head. I mean, the NFL does not allow the use of the helmet in any defensive play, but does it allow the stiff-arm in the face?! It doesn't seem right. It should be banned, too. It's so much advantage for the offense in the NFL.
