The 2004 patriots faced a historic indy offense, the #1 defense in the nfl at pittsburgh, and a 13-3 eagles team during the postseason. They held peyton manning to just 3 points, keeping the colts out of the endzone. They scored 41 points vs. a steelers team that allowed under 16 points a game in 04. And they beat a talented eagles team in the super bowl
@AmirKhan-yv8jm20 күн бұрын
They are the second team to face the #1 scoring offense & defense in the same postseason since the 1988 SF 49ers. That is one reason why they are considered 1 of the greatest teams of all time!
@Fireyninjadog20 күн бұрын
@AmirKhan-yv8jm they had 1 of the league's toughest schedules that year, and still finished 14-2, with the 2nd best defense, and league's 4th best offense, and they won the super bowl. the best team of the 21st century, so far

Just remembering that UPS' motto during this time was 'What Can Brown Do For You?' and they *didnt* sign Troy Brown to be their spokesperson, and have him do a bunch of fun commercials where he worked in every position along the process of delivering a package - like, talking to himself on the phone, and handing packages to himself. Terribly disappointing. I wrote them a letter.

My goodness do I ever miss the real grass at the Razor. These were great days. All the seasons i suffered through from my first year as a Pats fan in 1970 with Jim Plunkett all the way through Bledsoe and then comes Brady.... What a ride... Manning crowned the GOAT before he won anything and along comes Brady the real GOAT.... LOLOLOL.

It looked good, but when the Pats became a high powered offense Brady wanted it converted to turf, and they did it in the middle of the season iirc
@PedroMartinez-tt7lr3 ай бұрын
@@NYG5 You are correct - it was in the middle of the 2006 season. But it was more about the difficulty in growing quality grass in the Northeast in that stadium. The height of the new stadium really limited the amount of sunlight they could get onto the field. Because it was used for football and soccer it was impossible keeping the field in good condition when it was natural grass

I hate the Patriots. But the 2004 patriots are among the best teams in NFL history. They literally had to beat the number one offense and number one defense in their conference just to make the darn Super Bowl. I’m not sure that any team has ever done anything similar.
