Kirk is a consummate professional. That’s what Atlanta really needed him to be. Show the young fella what it means to be a pro, and give him his time and space to get his feet under him. Hopefully not sink the ship, which he definitely did do, with that 9INT to 1TD over 5 games stretch. But, he served his purpose. If Atlanta wants to, Penix is still gonna be cheap and Kirk is already on the books. They can make Kirk be the backup unless/until he wants to waive that no trade clause. They just gatta tighten up that front 7 on the defense. The back end is solid. The whole offense is solid now.
