It’s crazy to know that the Giants last 3 Super Bowl victories (1990, 2007 and 2011) were all highlighted by multiple revenge victories in the playoffs against teams that beat them in the regular season. In 1990 they lost to the 49ers and Bills in December only to beat both of them a month later in the playoffs in consecutive weeks (NFC championship and Super Bowl). In 2007 the Cowboys SWEPT the Giants while both the Packers and Patriots gave them losses in New York. They eliminated ALL 3 of them in the playoffs that same year! Then in 2011 they lost to Green Bay and San Francisco in the regular season only to boot BOTH of them out of the playoffs, both on the road!! The Giants definitely have a history of ULTIMATE revenge!

Further left there was a LB sitting underneath the throw 😉 If he tries to float it over there were a corner to the left (back turned though), the LB underneath and a safety over the top. Probably a makeable throw but situationally you don’t want to force anything that could result in a pick when up by just 2. Branch could have slowed down in the soft zone, like the commentators pointed out. Very similar coverage, but trying to force it over a LB to Branch (without floating it too much] can be seen at 2:02:50 There was two LBs sitting on Welker only loosening up when one LB drifted to the previously mentioned spot. Also, two rushers where free when Brady finally let it go. Sorry for the late reply, was just here for some punishment as a big Brady fan, and decided to have an extra look at that pass 😉
@gkearney6411 Жыл бұрын
@@mazizazi8412 I don't know about that, both had similar games both games, but the difference was Brady's mistakes cost them and Manning was saved. If you look at 2007 he had at least 2 other passes that should've been INTs and had 2 fumbles (both recovered by the offense). 2011 he had an amazing 1st half and then couldn't do anything after. He definitely didn't play great in either, but Manning got a lot of Lady Luck like Brady has gotten for a lot of his career.

2:07:00 Coughlin might have made the most underrated genius move in Super Bowl history by intentionally allowing 12 men on defense. The penalty only gave up 5 yards, the play killed 8 critical seconds on the clock, and the defense had an extra downfield defender for the deep ball.
@Catnotic3 жыл бұрын
Was it really intentional? I saw the 12th man running to the sideline so I don't think the Giants had an extra downfield defender anyway.

No doubt. They won it convincingly too. I'm just pointing out how it's unusual for a Belichick led defense to give up more than 20 let alone twice that. Some even speculate that he threw the game as some weird revenge. I'm not on board with that. Philly outplayed them that day. Plain and simple.

I am a lifelong Cowboys fan. So you know that during the regular season there's no love lost for the Giants. But this was honestly one of the most nail biting games I've ever seen and Eli Manning proved without a doubt that he IS an elite QB, in the class of Brady. A certain future Hall Of Famer. He displayed leadership, guts and never once complained or quit on his team. A personification of character and class.
