Three times in a row Chiefs opponents asked, "why did we stop running the ball?" The Chiefs are PHYSICAL. They wear the backs out early by letting them run a little and absolutely smoking them with hits. In Q4, you're dealing with high motor guys with ridiculous cardio. This is how they keep winning. They're stronger in postseason because they got pushed hard in training camp.

It would have been interesting to have seen the outcome if both teams did not turn the ball over twice each. We will never know if a TD, FG, or missed FG or turnover on downs would or wouldn't occur. Multiple scenarios. Both teams were driving and lost it. Pat threw a horrible Pic early in the 3rd and the ankle ricochet off the 49ers. Lost of what ifs.

@@millwork3319chiefs fan here; i understand what he means in pointing that out. The Patriots played in the WORST division of all-time over their 20 year dynasty, no other division in NFL history posted anywhere close to the other AFC East's team's combined .360 winning pct over any 20 year span. Pitiful. While the Pats certainly had a role in that, If they'd played in a tougher division, one has to wonder if they would've made so many SB's because they might not have had as many postseason bye-weeks or home field advantage. I love the Chiefs, but the stretch of AFC West dominance they've had since 2016 has as much to do with the other teams incompetence as it does Reid and Mahomes' wizardry. This year, it took the Chiefs playing their absolute worst to lose to the Raiders and Broncos, at which everybody thought the Chiefs might be a 1st rd wildcard exit at best. Luckily, they got their act together.

30:05 Tony Romo knew at the snap the 49ers panicked by blitzing. Mahomes burned them and he smelled blood. It just felt it was inevitable because 49ers lost composure and the defense got exposed.

@@Browniedownie7538 For the love of...just for once, ONE time, can we have a championship game where fans of the losing team _don't_ cry refs. You do realize that there were at least two 4th and inches for the Chiefs that should have been first down instead( and would have been overturned had Reid been smart enough to challenge)? Not to mention a - albeit legit - hold on fourth on the first series in overtime that the refs could have simply ignored to send the Chiefs home with a win? Referee bias was not a deciding factor in this one, so just once, can we not go there?

At 2:09, Kelce gets that first down at the 35, but was spotted half a year short. Happened it OT to Pacheco and refs did this repeatedly in the Super Bowl and AFC Campionship game. Made the Chiefs earn first downs a second time. Here, it didn't matter because Mahomes got it on the scramble. But it cost them in the game against the Ravens. Possibly took a TD off the board. Was a recurring theme of the playoffs. I do not know why the refs kept doing that to the Chiefs, because as any conspiracy theorist will tell you, the refs rig every game for the Chiefs.

The new rule didn't actually factor in here since the 9ers only got a field goal in the first drive in OT. If the 9ers would have got a TD, then the new rule would have made a difference. This is basically the same rules they've been playing with for years. Instead of sudden death in OT, of the other team only gets a field goal, the other tweak gets a chance to win with a TD or Tie with a field goal. The old rule was if the first that receives the kickoff in OT scores a TD the game is over. Since that didn't happen, it basically reverted to the old rule; the next team to outscore the other wins.
