These playoff games against the Packers and Lions had him start the game pretty poorly, but he got better each game to be a pivotal reason for the team to win. Purdy's measurables are a bit underwhelming but there's no substitute for the head tool, and Purdy's is as good as I've seen, and I spent 20 years watching Tom Brady and Peyton Manning go at it. That kid's got the poise and knowledge of a 10 year veteran and his body's still young and unbroken, He could go very far. Reminds me a lot of guys like Brady, Kurt Warner, Kirk Cousins too. That's about the level I expect from him, with Cousins as the floor and Brady as the ceiling.

Purdy and Lamar do completely different things though. Lamar is purely reactive. He plays to escape the rush. Purdy anticipates, uses his eyes, uses his brain, and uses his rollouts to set up a play even while he's scrambling, which he did several times against a good Lions rush. That's why Purdy is better at escaping even though Lamar has way better wheels, and way better at turning scrambles into positive yardage..

Purdy makes some plays happen that you don't see even the great QBs make. He somehow combines qualities of both Steve Young and Joe Montana. Its pretty entertaining to watch. He has a magical ability to make something out of nothing. It's fun to see someone like him succeed. Confident and Humble is a rare combination in sports. Purdy was 13-16 in the second half for over 160 yards passing. He also rushed for 40 plus yards. How many clutch plays did he make evading sacks and pressure. It was a fantastic performance and he definitely was the main reason the Niners had one of the biggest comebacks in championship history. I think people are finally slowly realizing wait this kid isn't just a dink and dunk game manager. He got agile feets and buys time outside of the pocket and throws well while creating on the move. We saw what he did with his rushing (4 rushes for 50 yards, lamar had 8 rushes for 54 yards) but Lamar is game changer and undisputed ELITE MVP (while manning 10 point, 13 point, 7 point, 15 point playoff offenses). Double standard is too strong
