The issue is that people are interested in being right and largely unwilling to admit when they are wrong. Many of the loudest, most stubborn doubters were saying he was a fluke after last years incredible run. A full year later, he’s still playing at a very high level and those same doubters are still more interested in being right, so they move the goal posts weekly and they find the most ridiculous reasons to say he isn’t as good as he clearly is. They would rather see him fail so they can say “see, I was right.”

So from here on out now they're just going to all keep saying it's because he's playing on the 49ers and he's around all this significant Talent blah blah blah so now we're going to have to wait for Brock Purdy to play for a whole other team for them to say see we told you. But by that time it'll be 10 years later and his play might decline you know after 10 years maybe getting an injury here and there but they'll still try to say see we told you so he went to another team and now he played like crap SMH and if you think about it it's 49ers have some good talent on there but come on how much better are they than any other team. They got a good running back, a good tight end, two decent receivers they have Trent Williams on the old line and their defenses are pretty decent but they don't have any huge name super All-Stars on the defense maybe one but other than that it's like the talent is there just like on most teams you're going to have a few big-name players or decent players on both sides of the ball. That's every NFL team if you ask me

Exactly! Being a great quarterback is like being a great golfer, you shake off your last bad shot like it never happened and do everything at the best of your ability. Brock did not get rattled against Detroit and Green Bay even after being down big.
@nathanphillips402711 ай бұрын

I feel SO Blessed that an upstanding, humble, and high character Guy like Brock Purdy is playing QB for my Niner’s…AND!…he’s a Strong Believer who isn’t afraid to mention and talk about his Faith and GOD on the ready…He should have truly be one of the most celebrated Underdog Stories in American Sports but the Naysayer-Hater’s stiff-necked Pride is just way too thick and runs so deep…Brock has totally exposed them for who they are- and it’s been extremely lame, totally embarrassing, and just pitiful and asininne to see how heck-bent they are to try to dismiss or demean him in the absurd, relentless fashion they have since the beginning… It’s been absolutely egregiously galling of them and just extremely pathetic! Praying for Brock Purdy! GOOO Purdy!!…Make them LEARN!!…GOOOO NINER’S!!

If coming back from behind in back to back playoff games isn't enough to prove Purdy is elite, then yeah you're a hater. Even when Purdy wins the Super Bowl MVP, people will still hate him. No other QB in the current NFL can do what Purdy did in the NLCS. Jackson is MVP? He can't even win in his own field against Chiefs. The guy is a groupie riding on his teams elite defense.

They said he couldn't win a game without Deebo, they said he couldn't win a game behind on points. Well, not only did he win a game without Deebo, he led not one but two comeback wins and is taking his team to the Superbowl, something that should of been done last year. Win or lose, the future is real bright for this Niners team with Brock at the helm. And before the haters come here and say "Its because of the people around him, the system this, that." no its not, there's something special here, statiscally, Brocks bad games are Jimmys best, before Brock, Deebo was overrated, Aiyuk wasn't "elite" Kittle was in Kelces shadow, oh but now that they have a good qb and he's putting up better numbers than most qbs this season, the niners are all finally recognized as elite just to throw dirt on Purdy's name? I hope they win the Superbowl and beat Mahomes to shut the mouths of people who really don't know ball.

Chad Ochocinco isn’t wrong though, as Phil Simms once said “When you give an average QB time, he turns into a great QB”. I don’t dislike Purdy, I think he’s a good player, but it’s the glazing that makes most people not like Purdy. Not to mention, if you put Derek Carr, Matthew Stafford, or any decent/good QB, are you going to get worse outcome than Purdy? Not really, 49ers have arguably the best RB, TE, WR Duo, and LT. Their defence has an outstanding edge rusher, MLB, CB, and safeties.

They know that the draft is a crapshoot and the Power5 schools are afraid of the mid level schools and HBCU’s getting more players drafted because that would cause them to lose recruits. Personally, I just think analysts got tired of Tom Brady. In a sense Purdy has a shot at becoming the next Brady imo, he certainly has the talent. He’s humble, got drafted last, he’s the full package. I’m impressed that the 49ers lost but the score wasn’t by much, in contrast to a guy who’s been in the league longer yet barely scraped by. another reason I feel is that they don’t like the fact that he’s white and new. It’s just a hunch don’t hate me but I’ve seen this played out before.

It's because the coach is good so they downplay him. People think the quarterback is behind the coach plays. However, any other player positions like CMC, Little, RB, doesn't have anything to do with the coach plays. Kind of absurd but that's how it is.

not a fan of him but i dont hate him , i think most of the hate against him comes from the media , talking about how he is an elite QB, while everyone knows pretty much every average qb looks elite in that system, but he deserves all the credit last season , He had an awesome season in 2023 but the mvp hype he got was just not justified , a top 10 maybe even top 5 qb last year , yeah he was, but nothing more then that. watched a lot of games of him last season and he was really good , just not special and that fine also , but when the media starts hyping him up as the next elite qb or tom brady like player people are going to start to throw hate. really interested how he will preform next season , hope he can keep this pace up and succeeds. I think the biggest question everyone's has is, if you think he is elite , are you willing to pay him elite money, 50 mil a year , meaning losing mcafree and ayuik , do you still think he can be elite whit out them

This is by far the best look at Brock and his path to the NFL. Had he gone to a better program in college, I don't think he'd have had to deal with these lessons until the NFL - and there likely wouldn't be time to get a 2nd chance at it. (that and Saban put the perfect chip on his shoulder by turning him away with "Your arm strength is whatever. Your accuracy is average"). Anywho, thanks again for the great content. Go Cyclones!

Kurt Warner…nuff said. They said he was a system’s quarterback…but it seems like every system he played in… he was the best at that system. RAMS. GIANTS. CARDINALS. He set records in all those organizations. He made all those teams that were shit…winners. If Coughlin hadn’t caved and benched him for a rookie Eli Manning who sucked, they might have made the playoffs. Tiki Barber was having a career year under Warner. Purdy is the same type of QB. Warner won it first time out. That team was suppose to suck. People forget that. Purdy has talent with him. So him winning this to me would be no surprise. I guess we’ll all see shortly.

Since when is wearing your cap backwards proof of a “frat boy mentality“? They’re tying so hard to find something to fault Purdy for. Also, game managers don’t throw like that. They’ll hand the ball off most of the time, making short, safe passes when they could.

So if one is to believe Cam Newton’s take, there can only be one “game changer” per team, because his definition is that a “GC” is the “best player on either offense or defense”… So who was the game changer during the 80’s? Was it Montana? Rice? Craig? Rathman? Jones? Which one of them was THE “GC?” During the 90’s, Young? Rice? Owens? I would argue that ALL of them were “GC’s” at the same time. I would submit that a true “GC” is a player who can at any time, take over a game, put the team on his shoulders, and make a difference. Also, Brock is playing in the SuperBowl next week. Cam is “retired”. He isn’t wanted on any NFL roster right now. So what does that say about him? Go Niners!
