No doubt brotha. But in another sense I kind of blame this class for the way we currently evaluate young qbs, it looks like we kind of expect all qbs coming into the league to look like a prime Tom Brady, and that any bad game (which all young qbs are going to have) results in the media question of "What happened to ________" like they're not allowed to struggle at all.

And the following year 2013 was one of the worst ever. EJ Manuel, Geno Smith, and Mike Glennon were main starters for their teams for like one or two seasons before flaming out And you had mediocre backups like Matt Barkley and Landry Jones.

You know a rookie QB was special when he wins OROY over both Russell Wilson AND Andrew Luck. RGIII had so many iconic games and moments that year. Not to mention his team starting 3-6 and winning 7 games in a row to win the NFC East.

@@devilniner9621 I hope not. I'm a niner's fan, so I'm really, really nervous. I've always felt like Kyle Shanahan is overrated. People say he's a "QB whisperer". To me, a QB whisperer, is a coach who can take any QB and make them good, and win with them. There are only 3 coaches in the NFL that are QB whisperers: Andy Reid, Sean Payton, and Kevin Stefanski. He's more of a QB guru, like Bruce Arians, where he can get the most out of a QB and win with good QB only, but with a terrible QB, can't get results. If Trey is elite, then I'll give more credit to Shanahan. But I have to see it to believe it.

Even bad QBs that year had their time to shine. Brock Osweiler would go 5-2 in 2015 in place of Peyton Manning, which included a victory over the New England Patriots, keeping the Broncos afloat which would eventually culminate in them winning the Super Bowl. The season could've easily been lost if the Broncos had someone like Brodie Croyle at QB instead of a half-decent Brock Osweiler. Lol Don't forget too the undrafted free agency class that year included Case Keenum, who's not bad at all for a player that wasn't drafted.

Watch the play at 1:40. Santana Moss puts his arms down to signal to rgiii not to throw the screen to his side. Idc what anyone says, RG3 was a baller, and his career was derailed by bad management of the Washington organization, shouldn’t have played him with that bad knee, was never the same after that, had all the potential to be great in the NFL

Imagine had he not played in the playoffs against Seattle & sat him for the early part of 2013. Who knows what could’ve been this dude was well on his way to being an elite QB.

It was well reported Mike Shanahan didn't want to draft RG3 but the owner said do it. Puts a player in a tough spot when your HC doesn't want you there.

We never know and some people say he is the Derek rose of nfl history but even though I like him I think he is like the wild cat and was a guy who once defensive coordinators adjusted ontop of dealing with injuries and telling Shanahan he wanted to be like peyton manning I think made everything more challenging than it already was which would make most fail but I respect the way he carries himself and doesn't make excuses

Watching this in 2023, it’s stark how physical and fast the game used to be compared to now. I’m all for player health and commitment to lessening the long term health effects of football but this is an entirely different game than what’s played today

This perfectly displays the Saints in those down years after Bountygate. Defense couldn't stop anyone, Brees putting the team on his back and doing everything he could to keep us in it. A lot of those teams should not have been like 3 win teams, but our record was constantly near .500 because of Drew

At 13:12 who would've thought that nearly 10 years later that Tannehill and Wilson would be the only ones starting? Wilson being the only one with the same team as drafted.

Washington should have never let Griffin go back in the Seattle game .... Once he limped off the field .... They should have stayed with Cousins. .. No matter how much Griffin protested .... They should have stayed with Cousins.... Win or lose that game.... It was a sign of poor coaching ,and it cost RGIII his career...

Everyone says rg3 is the Derek rose of the nfl but I think defenses would have adjusted to him even if he had stayed healthy, but still its a heck of a achievement the way he played during his rookie year and much respect the way he has handled the last few years
