Severely doubt we’ll ever see a QB like Peyton Manning again. He was an anomaly. And nowadays the NFL prioritizes athleticism at the QB position over IQ of the game. It’s hard to even rank Peyton among other QBs because he’s just so drastically unique. Like you said, he was the offensive coordinator. He just was. He called the plays. He managed the entire offense. He’s meant more to a team than any other player in the history of the sport. No matter how many rings Brady, or any other QB gets, they’ll never be a more valuable player to a team than Peyton Manning was to the Colts.

That Indy vs TB game the year after TB won the Superbowl was the best comeback I've ever seen and probably ever will see. I moved to the US from the UK when I was 11 back in 1994, took me sometime to get into to football but between the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Indianapolis Colts I became a huge fan. Watching Peyton play is what made me a Colts fan since I hadn't really had an NFL team I considered mine until about 2001 and with the Colts picking up Bob Sanders and Dallas Clark not long after it was just perfect for me as a Hawkeye fan too. During those colt days though you never felt like the game was out of reach if you were down by a few scores because you knew the offense had the potential to light it up and comeback. Seeing Peyton leave the Colts was tough for me, he was why I became a huge Colts fan and I still wish we would have kept him but it is what it is, I'm still a Colts fan even though its a bit rough currently. I'm glad he got to continue to play though, that injury was a rough one, it was hard watching him on another team but I was happy he got another SB ring.

@@y--8449I like how you fold league MVPs in with SBMVPs to hide the fact that manning had, not just more than Brady, but the most of anyone of all time as if you know that it creates a solid case for Manning as the 🐐 lol. Sure, Brady has the rings and a better final season but if Colts manning had the defenses Brady had or even that his later Broncos teams then he’d have the hardware. Rings are a team accomplishment, but league MVPs across different teams/throughout your career means you’ve been consistently THE BEST player in the league.

Classic! Loved to watch Peyton play. His animations confused the defense and the defensive coaches as well. You never knew where he was going to throw the ball and you couldn't stop him if you did. They played the vertical game and stretched the field. One of the most brilliant and strategic moves the Colts made in the Super Bowl against the Bears in the latter stages of the game was to start running the ball. ❤ ❤ Loved that team, the coaches, and all the players, but especially Peyton.

A highlight reel will never do Peyton Manning justice. All the pre-snap stuff is lost, the audibles and reads where Manning was scanning the defense and digging for gold. There still is nothing like the experience of turning on your TV and watching Manning at work in the no huddle, screaming in code at the offensive line, and thinking "what the hell is this guy doing?" It was weird, hypnotic, and a lot of fun to watch whether it went down in flames or worked like a charm.

I still don’t think we truly realize how great he really was. He changed the game, he won multiple superbowls and championship games, broke every record imaginable while basically being the offensive coach, brought in a whole new game to the NFL. Did so many things before passing became easier. He did it with numerous different head coaches, coaching staffs, offenses, receivers, and even teams. Not to mention a neck injury that should of left him paralyzed on the right side. It’s HOW he did it that makes him so incredible. As the decades pass and new QBs come and go and records fall. He will always be remembered as the one who changed the guard and brought in the true art of being an NFL QB. Such a legend.

I used to think football was slow and boring but my dad was watching it one September day in 2006 and I was in awe of this guy and all his beautiful throws and I said The colts are going to the superbowl. I learned more about football and the beauty and strategy that is in it in that year than I had my whole life. I was 25 when I became a football fan. I don't really like sports but football really has it all. There is the strategy for the cerebrals like me, there is the artistry, there is the kicking each other's butts for the more testosterone filled male, then there are the record books. I have memorized every team's superbowl wins and losses and if my particular team isn't doing well that season I root for the underdogs. I watched the 4 falls of Buffalo and cried. Hope they get their Chicago cubs moment and put that losing streak to rest one day. This year my picks are somewhat unlikely but I am hoping for Texans and Packers. Texans are the only team to not only ever get to the superbowl but have never been in an AFC Championship game. I would be happy if either team won but I would like Aaron Rodgers to get one more ring. I have been told I am not a true fan because I hop around. I mostly root for the people I fall in love with. I was a colts fan, then a Giants fan, a broncos fan and back to Giants. If Eli goes somewhere else I will probably start with that team. I have been a Packers fan when the Giants aren't playing because I love the pass play and Aaron Rodgers has an arm like few out there. Getting to know the running game a little more with Deshawn Watson of the Texans. I am a gal that loves football. (and deathly hates the patriots lol) And it all started with the GOAT in my mind, in football and in life, someone you can look up to a good decent Christian and humble soul, Mr Peyton Manning.

Don't be stealing Jeff Joniak quotes and spinning them towards the Colts in the SB... he's the Peyton Manning of radio broadcasters, and us bears fans love having him

I think Brandon Stokely and Peyton have some type of friendship because they both went to the Broncos, and we're both with the Colts.

In terms of field general, there will never be another. Coming from a die-hard Patriots fan who despised this man every time he was facing off against my team. Even Tom fails in comparison to the leadership of Peyton. An absolute legend.

I miss this man so much as a Colts fan. Growing up watching him play was truly a blessing to see.

Doesn't matter how much praise he gets, if he's not called the GOAT, he's being disrespected
