I couldn't get enough. Growing up in NJ, I was at my record store everyday waiting for the new releases from the Bay Area. I still say I was born on the wrong coast. In my opinion the Bay Area in the 80's was the most influential and meaningful music scene that ever was and will ever be.

Robb, I'm pretty sure that Harold's pic of the bloody GWAR chick at the OMNI, was the show Horde of Torment opened! If so, that was '89 and a huge show for us, especially in front of such a diverse crowd.

I miss the intro. I had no Idea what this was about - listened to it straight in the car via spotify.

Love this episode. They Bay Area style was my style. Robb, by the sounds of it does Ruthies Inn looked like the old Dynamo club. The Dynamo and the Aardschok magazine and Bullit record store in Eindhoven was the epicenter of Thrash Metal in The Netherlands. You guys made a good point. 80% of the bands who broke back then are still kickin' and relevant. However in all of this I missed my second fav. band being Mordred. What are your thoughts about Mordred. I think think that the Dynamo Open Air festival was the steppingstone for Thrash Metal into Europe. ps. Are you aware that Dynamo Metalfest was supposed to celebrate the scene by a special show with various SF bands playing other SF bands. This will be organized by Graig of Forbidden. I again I love this episode. 🤘you rock 🤘

Bit of a disjointed interview tbh.

Why do you say that?

@@joshuayettou3552 nothing to do with Robb Flynn who I think is a very good interviewer. Maybe because it was a 3 way thing but the synergy felt off. I've listened to several Brian Lew interviews on various podcasts, he's a nice guy, but he's very repetitive and a bit too placid. I'd like to hear more probing and reflective replies.
