Nga Atoiba Thongba Recipe | Manipuri Style Fish Curry | Spicy Rohu/Rui/Rau Fish Curry

In this video learn how to make traditional Manipuri fish curry - Nga Atoiba Thongba or Nga Toina Thongba. It’s cooked with chunks of fresh rohu/carp fish, spices and herbs.
✅Ingredients:
(please adjust the measurements according to preferences, if required)
500- 600 gram rohu/grass carp fish - cut into small chunks (can include head piece too). Marinate the fish pieces with turmeric, chilli powder, salt and mustard oil
2/3 cup garlic chives
2/3 cup chopped onions
2 tbs crushed ginger & garlic
1 medium size potato- cut into pieces
1 cup sliced tomatoes
1/4 cup green peas
1/3 cup crushed culantro/mexican coriander (Awa phadigom)
2-3 pieces of khasi papeda/ heiribob
1/3 cup chopped coriander leaves
4-5 slit green chillies
1/3 cup mustard oil
1 tsp each cumin & fenugreek seeds
1 tsp mustard seeds + 1 bay leaf
1 tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp cumin powder
2 tsp coriander powder
1 and half tsp hing/asafoetida
2 tsp garam masala
2 tsp Machal masala or any fish masala
Salt to taste
2-3 cups water
