Oh hey I helped playtest this one! I remember helping dn2rafael with assets, too, since Portal 2 stripped out all the assets for high energy pellets and the HL2-style breakable glass. For some reason, they're spread across a bunch of different folders, so it's easy to miss one or two, which makes things look weird. The pellet was fairly easy, but I had to check the material file to find all the textures for the breakable glass surface. Though I do ultimately prefer the retail style for its visual clarity and more subdued creepiness, the "nova prospekt" style is really fun to see and play through, and that's why I decided to help out with this map. I really like how he did the lobby area; it's nice to use the portal gun in a more open, free-form way after going through a testing track, and it is nice and creepy

this is all portal 1 chambers sticked together with a modified version of a very early beta version of portal 1's escape sequence, amazingly put together.

5:22 Early in development, playtesters figured out that one may simply walk along the bar that held the non stationary platforms, valves first solution to this was to electrify them, causing death upon contact, pissing of the playtesters and grating us the funni non tangible beamy laser that we all know and ignore to this day. By the looks of rail here, it appears electrified, would be an interesting detail to test.

I've played this one before! Its electrified and a pain in the ass. Funny fact, half these chambers are beans leak maps that are slightly redone (beans leak is a fake joke leak of maps that are inaccurate to the actual beta) The reason i can tell is because of the inaccuracies being the exact same as them, and removing intended solutions. Along side of this, the mono-portal gun room is completely inaccurate to a shocking degree because its the retail room with hl2 props while the original room was slightly bigger and had only 3 auto portals. Wolfcl0ck has a video on this for further details, and an unlisted video of a remake from where lights are placed. The portal gun upgrade room is also bigger then what the beta one was, and it was actually smaller then the retail one. It also uses a stand button instead of a floor button. (Theres dev commentary nodes in p1 that talk about it in that chamber) Theres also the chamber at 12:18, that chamber used to only have 1 box and you had to portal into the exit by standing on the other button. They also got the turret chamber wrong, that area used to be office areas in the beta. It was originally a behind the scenes map. They also have chamber 19 exactly as it is in retail, it isnt even from the prospekt era. Just a cool fact :3

2:36 - It's fine, the first few Portal 1 puzzles were super simple anyways, and Portal 2 is the bigger and more mainstream game 15:16 - Ooooo, Aperture poster! 16:00 - Easily fixable in Hammer, but easy to miss also 19:07 - Technically, you jumped around between various different Portal 1 puzzles, of which that was 19, a.k.a final puzzle 20:42 - 🏳‍🌈🏳‍🌈🏳‍🌈 22:10 - Oh yeah, I remember seeing that somewhere! 23:08 - That is _another_ Portal 1 puzzle. One you didn't play here Great video as always, and fun map with a lot of details :D
