Mine is an 2016 RS 10.0 Automatic giving 23.3 MPH hope it help get better MPG as with yours. Keep the good work. Thanks for your videos. Cheers from Puerto Rico.

Make sure you are keeping your air intake filter clean as well. If you have not, you may want to get CRC MAF cleaner (do not use brake clean or anything else) to clean your MAF sensor depending on how many miles you have on your engine. That will also help with gas mileage an performance. I have 70K miles on my car, but I clean my air filter at every oil change so my MAF sensor was pretty clean.

Derrick Aquino Will buy that CRC MAF Cleaner. Any recommended brand? Thanks.

Hey bro love your content always helpful and informative 🙌🏽🙌🏽💯💯💯 Have you consider putting Accel yellow super coils ?
@VampyreX135 жыл бұрын
No, I would not consider installing them. The factory coil packs are more than sufficient for a FBO setup. In fact, I was running 297+ WHP on my 2001 Corolla's 1ZZ-FE engine using the stock coils and they worked just fine with that setup. Also, I've read too many reviews about people have pre-mature Accel coil pack failures that I would rather spend extra money for a more reliable OEM part.

Just installed mine after watching your video! Thanks man! I did notice a clicking sound at first when coming to a stop while in gear. Turned the car off, started it again, and I noticed the click noise stopped. Will update in the morning. What do you think it could be?
@VampyreX133 жыл бұрын
Not sure. The cold winter weather can cause all sorts of weird noises sometimes. I'm currently dealing with tracking down my own mystery sounds.
@tonytnguyen923 жыл бұрын
I see, well the noise is no longer there. Keep it up with the videos man! I recently bought bushings and a short shifter for my tc because of your vids haha.

If I was you I'd run those plugs until 6k miles and check the gap. Amazon and ebay been reported to have supplier's sell counterfeit NGK iridium spark plugs, even big box stores will end up with counterfeit plus time to time. Fake plugs will cause misfire after 6k miles usually and the gap will be ware to double what the tolerances would allow.
@VampyreX134 жыл бұрын
I'm actually aware of fakes out there and I did confirm these were legit by comparing them against pictures. I've already put over 20,000 miles on the plugs without any problems. I'll check the gap anyway since I want to do some pre-winter maintenance. I didn't know about big stores getting counterfeit ones though.

Where in the world did you get the torque specs from? I have looked at my manuals, online, videos, I mean I should have just called Toyota but I like to know where to find the information.
@VampyreX134 жыл бұрын
I don't remember where I found the torque specs. Agreed though, it is really hard to find them online. A lot of times I try to find the install guides from Toyota's website. Other times I rely on message forums. A lot of times I end up actually talking to mechanics when I bring my car into the shop, and they can look up the specs on their computers.

Is factory supposed to be 18 or 13 ft-lbs?

It's been a while, but I think I got 18 ft-lbs from a Toyota shop manual I had access to at the time.

@@VampyreX13 I thought it is 13 ft-lbs, which is why I ask. Thanks!

@@dadadadada4974 I've seen 13 ft-lbs mentioned a few times online, but I've always used 18 ft-lbs when I do mine without any issues.
@dadadadada49744 ай бұрын
2AR-FE seems to call for 18 ft-lbs, so you are probably right. I did 18 ft-lbs with no issues. I agree about the use of electrical tape on the socket. Good tip for people. Thanks!

owner manual recommended "0.043 in. (1.1 mm)" for 2015 so what do you recommend?
@VampyreX134 жыл бұрын
I've always used Iridium plugs a 0.044 with my previous Toyota engines without any problems. The only exception is when I turbocharged my Corolla, then I reduced the gap because of rich fuel mixture and higher cylinder pressure. The optimal gap can actually vary from car to car, but you generally don't want it any smaller than required. If you start to get any misfires though, then you will probably want to close the gap a little because that means your ignition system can't provide enough power to bridge the gap.

Increase of mpg will vary after few miles or 1k miles?
@VampyreX132 жыл бұрын
You need to drive at least a couple of hundred miles to average various driving conditions and highway vs. city driving to get a good idea.
