this anime saved my life. i was once a socially anxious child who would try to escape from the world and not uphold any responsibilities in my life. some years later and i'm now engaged and on my way to becoming a primary teacher. i see a lot of comments of people saying "i wish i had a misaki to help me" and stuff, which concerns me because it seems they missed the entire point of this anime, which was that you cannot wait for some angel or cheat code to pull you out of despair and loneliness, it has to come from within you. you have to face reality and take it head on, which is what i did. getting "the girl" came later on, so focus on improving yourself mentally and physically before all that stuff. if you're reading this and you're in a bad spot, you can do this. i know you're probably scared and have lost hope, but things will get better as long as you fight.

But the most important part is that I feel confident in myself, and confident that if I ever feel depressed again I'll be able to tell someone and won't end up back to where I was.

Busque transmitir la soledad de los personajes principales (Satou y Misaki), que a través de ciertos acontecimientos, fueron dándose cuenta que ni ella ni él iban a poder ayudarse, ni iban a encontrar en otras personas la verdadera compañía. Sólo entre ellos dos podían acompañarse para sobrellevar las dificultades de la vida.
